Help Protect Chronic Pain Patients

I have been on morphine for 7 years without any problems. Now I'm being forced off of it. I have arthritis in my feet, have had neck surgery, have had failed back surgery, and have bad discs in my thoracic spine, plus I have scoliosis, my other discs in my neck have failed below the surgery, pain in both arms. I cant do other surgeries because of the scoliosis. I have tried physical therapy, acupuncture, injections, chiropractic, and everything else in the book. I need the high dose of morphine just to live some what of a normal life. PLEASE HELP!!! Suicide cant be a option.

I don't live in Oregon and if HERC continues on their present course, neither will the pain patients anymore as they will most likely be dead. The brain can only take so much torture before giving out through organ failure or mental breakdown, resulting in suicide. Please start acting responsibly toward your most vulnerable citizens. Extremes are dangerous. The Bible says "All things in moderation"

This is sliding from one extreme to another: from over prescribing to not prescribing at all. There are thousands of patients in genuine need of pain meds due to chronic conditions. One of my best friends who is elderly had a heart attack due to extreme chronic pain & her doctors refusal to treat. This sets a very dangerous precedent & puts the lives of hundreds of thousands at risk. This will not only hurt chronic pain patients but also those suffering from CANCER. Any extreme is dangerous. As is the hyper anti opiate groups in Oregon dictating policies upon the most vulnerable. This will lead to other unnecessary cuts that will further erodes our healthcare system. This must be STOPPED.

You sadists are forcing people to kill themselves because you have taken away the only medication that alleviates in curable, in a tolerable, excruciating pain. You people are bigger monsters than the Nazis.

I am a chronic pain patient I have been receiving disability since 2007. This organ panel needs to understand that a large majority of us have already tried all of the methods Plus many more such as injections I went in once a month for 36 injections of cortisone and another substance at one point there was a mistake made and I had huge half inch to three quarter inch indentations in my muscles which my doctor said was a Mis dose that made my muscles react by basically shriveling up luckily this wasn't permanent but many of the medications I tried also gave me seizures, and ticks made me slur my words and the majority of them said that the side effects could have been permanent so please remember that opioids can be the safest medication for many of us, and that chronic pain patients are not dying on their medication, addicts who misuse illegal prescription opioids do believe in that numbers exaggerated the majority of addicts are dying on heroin and Fentanyl. This will never help chronic pain patients. We have done everything before we ended up on pain medications

Active therapy what a joke

When you suffer from unexplained chronic pain you are treated like a hypochondriac, drug addict or criminal for years instead of trying to get to the bottom of the cause of your pain they give you stronger and stronger pain control until nothing help then they call you an addict and take away the drugs they caused you to become addicted to do they admit to doing wrong no it's your fault for having pain they could not diagnose. YOUR LIFE IS DESTROYED SOME GIVE UP ON PAIN FILLED LIVES. AND TAKE THEIR OWN LIVES. HOW CAN THIS BE TOLERATED SURELY SOMEONE HAS A DUTY OF CARE DOCTORS SWEAR TO DO NO HARM. WHO IS RESPONSIBLE TO CARE FOR THESE PATIENCE???

please we need relief. we want to be productive members of society but are not able to function.

The recent treatment of chronic pain patients is SADISTIC and TANTAMOUNT to ABANDONMENT.

I'm a chronic pain patient. Why is the government doing this, to us? To target us, because of the abusers, is so wrong. All we want, is to get out of bed, to be a part of society. Have some kind of normal life. I stopped taking my medication a few years ago. I was barely able to get out of bed. I borrowed a pair of crutches, to try and walk around my home, at the time. It was horrible. The pain, was just unbearable. I have no cartilage left, from s2 to s5. I have scoliosis, I was born, with it. I have pins, in my hips. What is the government wants? My life? Take my medication away, and that will be my only choice. I'm alone. No wife, no children, no parents. I can not spend, my life in bed. I have to cook, and eat. I have to go to buy groceries. This is insane. Stop, abusing us. I see a sign, every time I walk into a hospital. The sign say, we have a right, to live, without pain. Enough. Stop killing us. Thank you for your time.

Pain Patients, not addicts!

Chronic pain is a disease, please help us to stop the suffering. This is a human rights issue.

There need to be options for pain management for everyone, and there is no one size fits most policy that will allow this to happen effectively. The government should not be allowed to dictate medical care. While allowing for alternative therapies is wonderful, they may not be affordable, effective, or available to everyone. If they are not effective, we need to be able to use all the tools available to keep people as comfortable as possible. It is inhumane to remove treatment options from chronic pain patients, and opiates are one option that needs to remain in the toolbox.

This is cruel and unethical treatment and must be stopped immediately!

This is not taking into consideration of people with intractable pain which never stops. Please do not let this become law in OR. Others will follow suit whereas people suffering should not be included with the group that are getting drugs for the “high” & not for pain treatment. This is such a shame!

I've been doing therapy and see a psychologist since I've been declared disabled. 14 years of aa continuous sobriety. Never abused my medicine. Tryed physical therapy made me worse. Please Help Chronic Pain patients throughout the country. Chronic pain patients are being treated inhumanely and many are suffering in silence. And the suicide rate has gone up among chronic pain patients who have been cut off their medications or tapered solo that they can no longer have a quality of life.
