I have used prescribed medication off and on for 20 years. It’s prescived and used when my lupus flares. I recently wen threw 10 months of pain medication and am now 3 months with out any. I am not addicted and my life wouldn’t have been manageable without it. I work full time and take it as prescribed or less bc I can’t take it at work.

I struggled with severe pain for years. I tried everything, nothing was working, opioids saved me. Oh, I still have pain but not incapacitating pain. I can get up and do things, I can hold down a job. Chronic pain doesn't go away, and the people suffering with it are not taking pain medication to get high, we take it to live.

Please allow Dr.s trained in chronic pain management do their jobs. Without theses effective medications many people will suffer. There is a drug problem in U.S. but if you study data it’s not pain patients that are overdosing or becoming addicted. Dependent maybe but I’m dependent on my thyroid Med. Med for neuropathy, etc.

Quality of life for chronic pain patients cannot be legislated in a vacuum. Please do not take relief from those who cannot survive without it. The mental health issue in this state is going to get a LOT worse when you take away this option.

People deserve to live as pain free as possible. Take the control away from the politicians and put it back in the control of the doctors that trained for it. Chronic pain is no joke...if you don’t have it, you will never understand!!!
