Help Protect Chronic Pain Patients

Stop making my wife live in pain all day long, unable to sleep, unable to live the life she prays for. Please

I have Arachnoiditis, and have so for 18 years. I have tried, with high hopes PT, acupuncture, water therapy, to no avail. Since my doctor has been "forced" by fear to taper me down. My blood pressure has gone up to very high levels due to the severe pain, I have gained 60+ lbs, and no longer bike or walk around my block because of the severity of my pain. I watch my family sadness every day, as I can barely get out of bed just to do basic things. If your proposal goes through I fear so many, like myself, turning towards assisted suicide. All because you are going after the wrong people. We are not addicts. Addicts are going to continue to find their drugs, heroin and phentinal that will continue with o overdoses. Why would you want so many decent, once hard working Oregonians to suffer to the point of considering, or going through with assisted suicide?

To deny chronic pain patients, veterans, elderly, sick, ect. access to the only medication that gives them quality of life is barbaric! Not everyone that takes opioids are addicts. There is a huge difference between dependence and addiction! Responsible pain patients don't use their meds to get "high" they use them "as directed" to function and to have quality of life!

Please let our Drs do their wonderful jobs in keeping us healthy and active. Taking our meds away, then unable to move around, we are suffering horribly and need your help

OHA/HERC has blood on their hands from suicide rather than face a.life in intractable chronic pain.

So if I have a heart attack, Who will make my son Rich? Tax payer's? Treatment decisions should be made between providers and patients, not by state commission. Medicine should be practiced based on provider experience, clinical evidence, patient outcomes, and by weighing the benefits/risk of all available options. The people suffering the most are Not drug addict's, it's pain patients. For all conditions, not just pain issue. Insurance, pharmacy's, and other companies have no right making healthcare decision about my health. My insurance is refusing to do my cardiac stress test ordered by my doctor. Because change in heart arrhythmia's, chest pressure for over 2 months, with vomiting, high blood pressure, and a heart rate of 42. Everyday is a battle to stay alive and do basic ADL's. The pain is so bad and out of control.

Please, chronic pain patients like myself, with multiple degenerative conditions which cause extreme pain, are being punished needlessly. Even those on very low daily doses, this issue has already affected heath care in Oregon. Suicide rates are going to sky rocket.

Don't punish those in pain. The problem is an illicit fentanyl epidemic!!! We are stuck in the middle left to suffer and even die!

With the help of pain medication I have a semi active life! Before being given 8 Percocet a day, I went to the ER with breakthrough pain. I was bed bound and could barely move. With the eight Percocet a day I have jumped back into the acting world! I have become an extra in nearly every TV show or movie that has come to the Portland area and have joined in murder mystery Dinner Theatre troupe! I am able to have my 9 month old granddaughter come and stay at my house for the weekend! Well I still am in pain, it is manageable with the pain medication and it gives me more energy to invest in my life rather than dealing with the pain

Stop punishing victims of chronic pain. Stop the discrimination, give them their medicine.

I don't currently live in Oregon but have friends who are fighting for proper chronic pain control. This travesty is occurring all over the USA but I will never visit Oregon due to the lack of empathy you are showing to your Oregon citizens. I'd hate to be on Medicaid in your state. This is ultimately not only oing to increase the suicide rate but will also open the Government up to lawsuits for abuse and civil rights violations after the insanity that was not based on research but fears is proven as a Ponzi Medical scheme that benefitted nobody but those that can make a great deal of money treating drug addiction. The cost of a simple drug test has reached astronomical levels. When people start having many strokes and heart attacks due to untreated or undertreated pain and it results in long hospitaliations and a stay at a nursing home after the attack the true idiocy and expense will be revealed and they will discover that treating pain is more cost effective and humane than treating major medical events that were easy and cheaper to prevent.

I have absolutely no quality of life without proper pain management. I depend upon opiate pain medication to be able to walk and function. I've had numerous spine surgeries, fused at ten levels, and I have severe degenerative issues. I have a legitimate need for pain meds, and without them I wish I were dead because the pain is so extreme. To deny us relief from severe pain is inhumane and frankly criminal.

Put care back in healthcare. One Love
