We need to keep our universities at a global standard. We should not be cutting courses but seeking to add new ones, so that people in our country can study what they love.

The Chinese department should remain open to educate students and allow South African to broaden its future and be in a position to allow trade and communication between the two nations.

the only reason I came to Stellenbosch University was because they offered Chinese and I have built my life around it as a subject. If it goes away, so does not only my future disappear along with it, but many other students currently studying it as well as prospective ones who wish to study it.
