My child was baker acted by vice principal over a scratch on his for arm and taken in to mental institution in a police car

My son has been a victim of this law multiple times! It’s time for change!

Petition for the administrators of the capitol of the states to administer housing voucher assistance to be administered to handed in to homeless with gender association and sexual orientation association of living with each other. The Baker Act is ABUSED! I lost everything because of it

My 13 year old son was baker acted from his middle school and I was not notified until the decision was made by the school resource officer and guidance counselor. The resource officer called to say my son was baker acted and would I like to meet them at the mental health facility. My son was with the guidance counselor for over an hour and no one had the decency to let me know so I could go immediately to my son and transport him voluntarily. Instead he was terrified, transported in the officers car and not allowed to see me until they completed his intake. Should the suicidal ideation ever return the likelihood of my son talking to his counselor again is zero.

This is horrible and the parents should get to make the decisions for their child NOT a school official.

My eight year old was at risk of being Baker acted without cause and to my surprise. The unprofessional, unethical, inadequate and quite frankly, bullying-behaviors from an elementary public school vice-principal, social worker and school counselor were shockingly disgusting, aggressive and unacceptable. The vice-principal screamed out that they “could’ve” Baker acted my child based on a single incident that happened at school. I did not agree with the claims from the incident and all hell broke loose from that point on.

This has to stop! As a parent, it is our obligation to stand up for our children and protect them from involuntary services. We know our children better than anyone, therefore it should be mandatory to for the school to first hold a mediation meeting with the guardian of the child, school officials and resource officer to obtain full knowledge and understanding of the situation so that proper procedures can take place and to prevent unnecessary actions to be be further taken by people who only know and see the child in a social setting. There must be another way to properly diagnose children in question. Otherwise the system is creating more damage than good for not only the child but the families and loved ones as well. School officials should not have the right to take action above the parents knowledge or wishes. Another issue that should be addressed in this aspect is how the resource officers handle a tough situation like this and how if the nearest receiving facility does not have suitable means or officials to examine a minor for psychiatric care then that facility should not be allowed to accept a child at all and the resource officer should then locate the closest facility for child health/services.

Just had an incident where a friend's child was baker acted and she was on the way to school to pick him up. I understand suspension until evaluation but not baker acting. It was an overreaction and I understand but the offense was not worthy of a baker act in my opinion. My daughter had been baker acted for good reason, this was not and the school should not be able to override the parent. A hospital should but not a school, they are not equipped to make those decisions unless the child threatened to harm himself or others.

This is not right. Society needs to change, you need to concentrate on education and let us be parents to our children.

Stop drugging these children and take a look at the social media and foods that these children eat and the way that these parents have to work like dogs to keep a roof over there heads. it is time to look at what we as a society have done to our youth. Help these parents and children.

How can anyone prescribe these dangerous mind drugs to babies and toddlers!

This is unacceptable, capitalism at its worst.

stop drugging our Children & using them as guinea pigs for your experiments on Drugs.

Please protect the public against some Law Enforcement Agencies tendency to abuse their power. Especially when a Law Enforcement Officer is a disgruntled family member.
