I personally was baker acted and I am no where near insane . I was proven by the “doctor “ at the facility to be SANE. The baker act wasted my time, I lost money and now I have to deal with it staying on my record.

As a guardian ad litem, my first little person was baker acted the first weekend he was my case and was hand-cuffed and kept 72 hrs.....How do you even have handcuffs that fit a 9 yr. old?!?!?!

Currently I am involved with CCHR in Florida. My daughter was overmedicated and extended stay for 7 days which we felt was not necessary. We are against overmedicating children and changes need to be made. To many children are baker acted and many un necessarily.

The act of Barker Acting my daughter caused her MORE HARM than any type of "help" the facility was trying to generate. It effected not only my daughter, And her friends but also us as a family not to mention the disruption of her school ( a sophomore and has not missed a day of school until this unnecessary incident and had to drop a college course ). I am beyond aggravated at this non-helpful system ! I had to contact an attorney ( found through CCHR- thank you). I did get her released 5 days sooner than the facility had her " scheduled for release ".

my daughter, it is held against her will and is not receiving help at the treatment center.
No only minor The baker Act should be rewrite with parent involved in your kids live even when they are consider adult.

Every law should have protocol to be follow. That's happened to my daughter causing mental anguish to us as a parents because we taught that our daughter was kidnapped or something bad happens. This laws has to be changed. Please someone contact us about this. 407-960-8501.

This is ridiculous; my child has been threatened by both her school and her therapist over very minor issues and I am appalled this is allowed!

This needs to be changed. My son was Baker Acted by a doctor that never even spoke to him. He didn’t ask him any questions, just medically cleared him for transport. Sitting in a bed waiting hours, no information, nurses ignoring him, no observation by medical professionals, nothing. This overuse and abuse of our children needs to end! Parents know their children better than a doctor who never even spoke to them.

My 6 yr old was baker acted involuntarily and now I am being told there is nothing I can do about it. And apparently they can do whatever they want with him and we have no rights.

This act has got to be amended, the way it stands leave too much for abuses from institutions for financial gain and there is no way of knowing whether or not an institution is not abusing patients or whether patients are given humane care.

Psychiatric medications have caused so much death and mayhem, the psychiatrists and medical doctors that push them should be in jail. What sane person would ever prescribe something with a side effect of violence, aggression and suicidal tendencies? I ask you, who? Answer: Only those who want to destroy or at so misinformed, they don’t know. Very sad. Quit drugging children, and everyone else with psychiatric medications. It is criminal.

My son has been a victim of this, he was baker acted and released for counseling after 4 days, than 3 days later at his counseling session he was baker acted again. After reading the report the person who wrote it lied about my wifes consent and agreement to the act.

My grandson is a victim of pharmaceutical drugs and so was I. Thank God I have never been Baker Acted but my grandson was put into a hospital. I believe the pharmaceutical drug companies need to be arrested.
