Florida Stop trying to take away parents and innocent children's rights. Enough is enough

As a parent I refused to see my son who has autism to be forced in a mental institution where he will be helpless and scared I sign this petition for my rights as a mother not to see your child in this situation, this hasn't happened yet but I need to protect my son what ever it takes I support all parents who are with me on this

My 8 year old child was Baker acted yesterday , without my consent. The on campus police officer was constantly giving her opinions related to my daughter's mental health and pretty much twisted everything my daughter stated during an investigation.

I have been a florida resident my whole life. Just recently moved to Nevada. My 7 yoa son is currently enrolled in a florida school. He was recently sent unjustly for a psychiatric examination by his school. My mother (his guardian) and I are working hard so this doesnt happen again to him or anyone else.

My 7 years old son was Baker acted yesterday from Pinecrest Glades Academy, Charter School; Miami F.L The school counselors used suggestive interrogation that lead my child to say that he wanted to kill himself. A while before in his class room, he had touched the neck of two girls who were both sitting on either side of him. He was accused of attempting to chock them and sent to the counselor's office where they started interrogating him. The interrogator was blaming him for his “act” making him feel guilty and and asked him about his feelings of shame and regret, My son was forced to respond to inadequate questions till he confessed that he was feeling miserable and sad due to the way they painted the situation. Then she ask him "Miserable like what?" my son, stretched his index finger across his neck showing his way to express the misery and disappointment brought on by the accusations. She then said "That means that you want to die?" to which He responded ;" Yes." Then she asked; "Do you want to kill yourself?" He then replied "yes..." To which she asked;" How do you do plan to kill yourself?" He said "I’ll grab a knife and cut myself like -( passing his finger from his neck) Next question; " Where do you plan on getting a knife?" To this my son responded " I’ll go to the kitchen in the school cafeteria and grab one." She literally lead and imposed this type of toxic behavior onto the mind of my child during the interrogation to give her the support she required to enact the Backer act upon him. My son is only 7 years old, he is an amazing young boy who is very intelligent. Yet, he is still just a 7 year old child that can be easily manipulated by a voice of authority and guided to answer questions in a way that this "counselor" would find convenient. Next step; She called the police, who took my child to the hospital to confine him in a Mental facility floor for 72 hours minimum (No weekend or h

Parents or guardian should always be consulted and permission given before any drug or treatment is administered to their child. Only in a life or death situation should any treatment (to save their life) be given without permission.

Stop greedy people from hurting our children and families.

This is gross negligence. It violates every constitutional right. Florida just wants to make money off anything they could careless about your child. You should take their children and see how they feel. Florida laws are a violation of so many rights! Florida has over stepped and caused more damage than they help. Who ever thought this was a good idea was the police trying to pass marshals laws with out you realizing you are giving strangers your God given right! Shame on Florida for doing anything to make money, greed and cruel and unusual punishment to tramatize a child because an untrained stranger wants to get rid of your child. No justice, no peace!!! Stop voting for someone else to have any control over your family’s best interest. I am a trained psychologist, and would never think this a good idea in any case, to just pull a child from school, worry the parents and child. Every student than knows and bully’s or teases that child, thier personal private business by law becomes a source of humiliation. It has been proven it caused more damage, suicides and ptsd than good. Hippa law was made just to stop the government from doing things like this.

Parents should be contacted when child is be held without parent

A parent should be able to say weather the child needs the baker act or not. PARENTS should have the right to have them released too

this happened to my child today! this is absurd. My 13 yr old son is in no way a danger to anyone. they wont even let me speak to him. he is at shands vista.

My daughter was on miralax for 5 days. Night 5 has voices in her head to kill herself with a knife. I took her to the hospital where a sheriff showed up and took my 12 year old from me. I had no idea what was happening. She is an honor roll student never had any behavioral issues until this awful night. They baker acted her sent her to a mental institution would not let me see her I found out miralax is causing this in thousands of children the facility would not listen to me would not let her go. Fl law says 12 hours for a minor not under arrest. 48 hours later I had to cause a big scene to get my baby home. This traumatized her so badly. Miralax caused toxic induced hallucinations and the voices. I'm her parent I had no say in what they did to my daughter. Then the facility tried to medicate her with prozac after I told them absolutely NO MEDICINE. This has to stop.

Parent should be consulted first!!

My 14 yr old daughter has been held now for 48 hrs I have been refused right to see her and spoke only for 15 min yesterday , she’s calm and not at risk of harming anyone or herself but will not be released. This has been a traumatizing event for her and our family.

I passed through this ad experience, my son is 9 years old and was baker acted and evaluated without my Conscent.

An SRO of Eastlake HS called the police and my 17 year old was Baker Acted based on a comment from another 17 year old who was being vindictive. My daughter is not a student of Eastlake, in fact she does full time to FVS because she is a ballet trainee. We were not notified by the school or police. We were not home when she was picked up and was completely traumatized. Do we have any rights?
