I live in the country... not an HOA community. This is not acceptable!

I do not want to live in a society where I am subjected to indiscriminate rules, which violate my Constitutional rights.

If you have had a problem with a neighbor that does not keep-up his property to your specifications, this ordinance might sense to you. But, what if your neighbor thinks that you are not keeping-up your property to his specifications? As written, this ordinance could be interpreted to be almost anything anyone wants it to be. I suggest that this ordinance be rejected.

Just keep the property rights as they have been for all these long years. It sounded like at that last meeting the panel has their minds made up already to pass Ordinance 15. I think the citizens of Boone County KY are wasting their breath.

VOTE NO to the 40-page draft and any "sanitized" versions. How would you like it if a plain-dressed code enforcement board member arrived on your door step with a request to come into your house for suspected violations of certain public health/building codes? How would you like a fine and 14 days to correct CHIPPED PAINT or an UNAUTHORIZED COMPOST PILE? Ridiculous. Maybe something like this makes sense for a city the size of Chicago, but it certainly is unnecessary in rural and suburban Boone County. If the idea is to protect property owners in Oakbrook from their neighbors, then maybe Oakbrook should incorporate as a city. Plus, many, if not most, of the subdivisions in Boone County have Home Owners Associations. Leave the rest of unincorporated Boone County alone! We already have several incentives to keep our houses and grounds in good condition. It's called an investment. It's called self-respect.

Respect the Constitutional rights of free citizens. Americans will not subscribe to this limitation on sovereignty.
