Plandome Manor BOT Plans to Vote on 2 Motions (including spending $64k) To Relocate Historic Home & Village Office to Circle Drive, at 1/18/22 Meeting

I don’t a village office next to my property and to loose green space and most importantly the water problems that I have already

There are many issues that should be considered and discussed before any decisions are made. Traffic & safety on our streets, parking, drainage, property values, the loss of the only empty green space in the neighborhood, the need for a 2679+ sq. ft. Village Hall, the cost and other possible options for preservation of the historic portion (approx. 858sq. ft.) of the Richardson home.

I support discussing ideas (and even disagreeing) in an open forum after all interested parties have had proper notice and an opportunity to prepare. Bits and pieces of this proposal began to emerge via email at the close of business on a Friday before a three-day, holiday weekend, effectively providing residents with one business day prior to the board meeting. A project of this scale has the potential to adversely affect a small neighborhood like Circle Drive and due process must be afforded to the residents.

I remain open to a thorough and open discussion about this topic. While I am fully in favor of preserving this historic and unique home, I believe it should not come at the expense or to the detriment of our treasured neighborhood.

Commercial use does not belong on residential block…

The site is zoned for residential … not parking lot and not for a commercial use such as the Village Hall. Circle Drive is an otherwise bucolic residential block which would be dramatically degraded by siting the Village Hall and correspondent parking on that site…The site also provides a walking pass through to the train which reduces traffic and parking by the train which is a substantial benefit to the environment and the neighborhood as a whole. Plopping the Village Hall on that site is an expensive anti - environmental boondoggle which would only serve to degrade the unique residential nature of Circle Drive.

The main role/function of local government is amongst other obligations; is the improvement of quality of life issues ,i.e.in the , environmental and recreational areas. Improving services, with strict adherence to planning, and zoning by-laws.And keeping the community members informed and include them whenever possible in the decision making process.

It would be very sad to see the placement of a town hall near the train station.

I look forward to an informative exchange of ideas at tonight's meeting with civility and without rancor as we discuss all options. Lets listen to the Board, get questions answered, listen to opinions and decide together what is best for the community. Lets not increase the rhetoric with pre-conceived suppositions until we know all the facts. I too are one of the residents living close to the footpath, but I am willing to hear all sides, and what brought these ideas forward before committing to a decision.

The dozens of things I have seen, read and heard about how the village is conducting themselves in regard to all of this gives me pause. I can't help but question the motives. I want transparency, transparency, transparency! And I don't want their office in my quiet neighborhood.

Not good in residential area

I am opposed to any change to the Circle Drive entrance to the LIRR.

I am shocked at the lack of transparency by the BOT. I OPPOSE any change to the LIRR entrance park.

The Village board should have initially made clear the details that have now come forth regarding this project. The lack of transparency is my main concern.

Such a facility would most assuredly significantly change the character of Circle Drive, and not for the better.

I do not want this to disturb out quiet little neighborhood that homes at least 30 children.

I support trying to save the house. I support a way to have a Village Hall that is in the Village. However, I do not support asking the residents to pay over 60k for an architect and until the residents have a full opportunity to assess the actual costs, tax impact and other issues such as parking and impact of placing a Village Hall in the middle of a residential area. At this point, we have nowhere sufficient information to evaluate this.

Terrible idea for this quiet neighborhood. Absolutely opposed to this. I’m having a hard time believing anyone would think this is a good idea for our neighborhood. Also appalled at what this this village is allowing to go in in some cases and in others holds a heavy hand.

Relocating the house to that location is an absolute horrible idea and will be so disruptive to our neighborhood, causing more traffic and making it less safe for our children who play there!
