Proposed Golf Course Lodge Threatens Madison Green Community

For all of the reasons identified, I oppose the proposed development. The Madison Green Golf Club is a whisper of the course it once was. Even at its best, it was hardly a "destination". The trend downward under the present ownership has only provided a snapshot of would continue to be expected. A kitschy title of "Golf Lodge", is a thin attempt to paint a picture that will never come to fruition. This plan is foolish on many levels and is not justified to devalue our collective properties. Face it, this is Royal Palm Beach, not Wellington. This idea has the potential to leave us with another Royal Inn. The proposed hotel level of service is not high enough to do anything but decrease our property values.

I live in this community as an active and engaged member, valuing the well-being of my neighbors and the environment around us. I appreciate the sense of connection, the green spaces, and the peaceful atmosphere that make our community a great place to live. However, building a golf lodge here could have a negative impact on both the community and its residents. While some may see it as an attraction, the harm outweighs the benefits. A golf center requires a significant amount of land, which could lead to the destruction of natural green spaces, displacing wildlife, and disrupting the balance of our local ecosystem. Additionally, maintaining a golf course demands excessive water usage, which could strain local resources and contribute to environmental concerns. Beyond environmental harm, increased traffic and noise could disturb the quiet residential areas, affecting the quality of life for families and individuals. The construction process itself could be disruptive, bringing heavy machinery, pollution, and safety hazards. Property values in the surrounding area may also be affected, as some residents may not appreciate the changes brought by such a large development. Ultimately, while a golf center may provide recreational benefits for some, the negative consequences on the environment, community resources, and the daily lives of residents make it a less-than-ideal addition to our neighborhood.

I am very against this proposal. It does not fit with the design and appeal of the community.

Completely against this hotel.

I don’t want any more outsiders invading my privacy, so there is no need for a golf lodge. It will only benefit the big corporations while devaluing our property price.

Bad idea,more traffic, questionable people, what about the basketball and tennis courts.. is that used by the hotel? Madison Green too busy already don’t need more traffic with a hotel!
