As one of the many descendants of the rebels that fought in the American Revolution, and there are many nationalities and races that fought alongside each other, I wholly embrace this effort.

Love this idea and I think it is a good compromise and fiscally responsible

I share the opinion that the proposed compromise would benefit everyone in the Midland community. I also believe the MISD school board was grossly negligent by making a rushed decision without first conducting a study to determine the financial impact it would have on the community. I also believe the MISD school board showed a lack of respect for the citizens they represent by not considering everyone's opinions. The board members who voted in favor of this change have shown they are not capable of leading our school district effectively and they should be replaced on November 3rd!

I am a 1972 graduate of LHS. I do not support the name change of the school for all the same reasons expressed by the people supporting this sight.

So many things to say on this subject. MISD is sadly making so many irrational decisions and education isn’t a business- it is supposed to be about pouring funds and good teachers into educating our kids to be good stewards for our future. Somewhere along the way that goal has been lost, and deceitful purchase of a golf course for 9 million that is on the tax roles for 1 million, and who knows what else has been done that isn’t publicized needs to stop. I don’t even see how it is legal to let the board and MISD do some of the stuff they are doing. I know teachers who were called at their homes and told to vote for the bond. As if they had no choice. I say call the police and get some of these people arrested, as they are doing things illegally for whose benefit- I don’t know. No! Do not spend millions changing a name that has nothing to do with educating children. No!

It is not only the things around the school or it all the other things parent will replace. Yard signs $75 Travel bag $35 Mum $85 Window stickers$7 Undergarments for band $25 Water jug$10 And there is so much more this is just for my child who is in band. This doesn’t include all the hundreds of dollars in spirit items such as shirts, blankets, and umbrellas. These will not be covered under whatever money is used for this change this will fall in the parents and families of the children.
