Healthy adults and children shouldn't be forced to wear masks when the benefit of wearing a mask is questionable and can lead to additional health, learning and social related concerns. Now that all but 4K students and staff are eligible for the vaccine it is time to make the move to mask optional.
I have spent the past several days reviewing communication from district leadership regarding current health protocols. Your ongoing feedback provides valuable perspective as we continue to advocate for a return to optional masking policies.

The response to this petition has grown significantly and reflects a clear desire for change within our community. This momentum indicates that many parents are ready to revisit current school policies. We will now begin the process of presenting these concerns to the appropriate administrators.

Masking children and teaching them that the only way to protect themselves against a virus is to wear a piece of material that offers zero protection is insane. Why not teach kids to make better food choices? That would mean the parents and adults would have to take actual control over their own failing health to stop being self righteous long enough to see that masking children is abuse that deprives growing brains of oxygen. Please stop being so ridiculous.

Dr. Larson stated that the kids in 7-8th grade didn't need to mask because they could get vaccinated. Now that everyone can get vaccinated it should be everyone’s choice to mask.
