Project Zebra crossing

As a local childminder I have to cross this road 4 times a day at peak times ie 9 and 3.30 it is a complete hazard. Our children are getting older and as they progress through the school we are advised to give them more responsibility for example walking to school at it's present state I am not confident in allowing my child to cross this road not all cars stick to the limit it's only a matter of time before an accident happens. As for elderly crossing to get to the doctors just a few weeks ago a gentleman fell off his mobility scooter and couldn't get up without assistance. He said he felt anxious and rushed crossing to the doctors it would be beneficial for the elderly people who use the doctors. It is also a local sign posted cycle way and as such is regularly used.

Really important to have a safer way to cross this road. It is dangerous!

I think there should be a zebra crossing

This is a very dangerous crossing and the problem urgently needs to be addressed .

A crossing is badly needed here ,young children just cannot judge speed and distances and I have seen incidences where children have dashed across when they should have waited

Please let's have a safe crossing before we lose child. It will be too late then.

The safety of children is paramount.

As a pedestrian and driver I have witnessed too many close shaves. If there is anywhere that needs a 'pedestrian crossing' it is here. If there was a study by the HSE they would shocked on how much risk there is crossing this stretch of road. Please please prevent the heart ache of a terrible, avoidable accident.

I strongly urge this to happen, I lI've minutes from this road and have young family and friends who would benefit greatly and feel safer in our community.

It's a brilliant idea that will keep the children much safer!

My son starts school in September and we really do need a zebra crossing before a serious accident happens I feel a traffic light system would also benefit on the roundabout as when you are coming out of marlot road onto the roundabout you can not see traffic coming from the right hand side.

Something needs to be done, it is so dangerous trying to cross!!!

This stretch of road is crying out for a safe crossing particularly for the many children and their families that walk to school along this route regularly!

This is a must for this road, can't believe it wasn't dne sooner.

Even I find it hard to cross there! Let alone with children, very dangerous.

The road from Gillingham to Milton is such a fast and dangerous one. People do bot slow down at the roundabout but whizz across. There are an increasing number of lorries. Children on the marlottroad estate need to cross to get to school, any one on the gyllas way side have to use it to get to the doctors, dentists and nursery. I live on the marlott road side, my daughter walks to school and I like her to but my greatest fear, by far, is her crossing this road. I've also been there whilst parents with buggies and young children find it hard to get across. It's an accident waiting to happen and that's too late.

we really need this to keep us,and our children safe crossing a very busy road.

I dont feel it should have to come to a petition to get a zebra crossing put in for the safety of the children walking to school and others walking in that area. Pedestrian safety should be a priority. While the hole petition is going on a child, elderly person or anyone else could get hit by a car crossing that road...no one sticks to 30mph coming off that roundabout so its only a matter of time before something bad happens.

Very important there is a crossing for everyone not just children, very busy road and even though speed limit it is not kept to.
