We will NEVER get anywhere without change!! I'm so sick of this 200 year old mentality. The kids still fight because of their neighborhoods. Let's get the focus back on education and excellence!!!!!!

As a teacher who is not originally from Gadsden County but currently teaches within the district, the people who are from here do not value the opinions of those who are not from here. The administrators are very disrespectful and condescending to those who really do care about the students here. It hurts my heart to hear of teachers looking for positions elsewhere as I am one of those teachers who is actively pursuing positions outside of this district. The morale of the teachers where I teach is way down and it’s sad to say that most of us have adopted the “I don’t care” attitude because of the lack of support we have not only at our school but on the district level also. The students are very disrespectful and are not being held accountable for anything. There is nothing in place to hold a student accountable when he or she has over 50 absences. There has to be change here in Gadsden County for this district to rise above its place of complacency! A fish rots from the head down, and if change doesn’t begin on the leadership level, I am not sure of the fate of Gadsden County.

Time for a change! Teachers are leaving this district because of the low pay, disrespect from students, not being respected by administration and district staff. Also, it appears that some district office employees are even paid more than teachers! These are just some of the reasons I feel as though we should do the reconfiguration especially if you are new to this district because we all feel under appreciated and are seeking employment elsewhere!

For the success of our students we must put them first and educate them with the best resources that means keep certified teachers in the classroom. Resources for all teachers should be the same (doc cameras, ipads, etc) and not just available to those at the selected privilege schools. Students should be receiving the same education that students are receiving in Leon County, it should be more than worksheets, but instruction that is rigorous.

Something has to be done because the children of Gadsden County need a better education. If board and community members don't like this plan then they should help find a better solution to this county's problems. A solution has to be found because Gadsden is failing its students.

Mr. Milton, as Superintendent, you have the right to request changes for this district. Even a small change will benefit the district such as Gretna Elementary emerge with Greensboro Elementary and St. John Elementary emerge with George W. Munroe Elementary. The distance for the emerge would be less than ten miles. Several students from Gretna attend the schools on the West side of the district.

Time and change go down the road together. We MUST! embrace this moment to do what is educationally best for our students. They need to be able to compete in this vastly changing world. We need to make sure they are equipped with the necessary tools in their boxes to be critically thinkers and decision makers. Please do not hinder progress by having closed minds. I fully support the reconfiguration of the schools and say "Let's Move Forward"!

Gadsden County has much potential, but in order for that potential to come out there needs to be work put in. As a 2015 graduate from East Gadsden High School, I absolutely feel that the school board really needs to think of the students and their education, raising the teacher's pay in the school district and not just sit back and do nothing. If you care for the students, teachers, or any other school workers, than you should take immediate action towards improving the negatives within the schools, working towards accomplishing yearly goals in the school district, not limiting thise goals when there should be many positives being reported every school year. If you dont care than you shouldn't be apart of the school board. Gadsden County Schools need people that actually care to work hard to ensure that the students gain a legitimate education, allowing them to move on into their futures showing many others in neighboring counties, states, and much more that they have received the same knowledge as them, allowing them to compete and work on the same exact level academically as many other students around the country do. Improvement is seriously needed and there is no question about that. Greed, selfishness, laziness, or any other form of not caring should not be involved in the school district. GET IT TOGETHER!!!
