Problems with Head-Royce Middle School Homework
As all of us students agree, homework is a huge burden. The disproportionate amounts of homework are taking away students' free time, and along with that time, their happiness. The large amounts of homework, approximated as two and a half hours a night, can, because most students procrastinate, take all night with long term projects and other unfinished work. The homework takes away from the students' sleep and enthusiasm, causing them physical harm and exhaustion and making them less effective in school.
This is why our school should lower the amount of average homework in the Middle School as students are learning how to manage their homework.
The best way to fix this problem is not to make no homework, but to slightly reduce the amount of homework so that students can still learn from homework.I believe that lowering the homework per class per night by ten minutes will lower the homework enough for kids to feel more free, but will also let them learn from homework. Having less homework will make them more enthusiastic for school and in class projects, and will learn more, as it is scientifically proven that people learn more when they have more sleep.
