These grands are very important for the schools of our children, to make programs available for them and the support that everyone else like staff and parents give for our children.

Councils rely on these grants to build community relations between the schools and families.

As the Chair of my school council, I asking the government to reconsidering pausing the pro-grant program. This money helped bring in additional resources in the way of speakers for parents in important areas such as mental health and wellness, anti-bullying and math resources. Without this money, Councils are now left to use other monies earmarked for other student needs in order to pay for the speakers already booked for this year. Parent engagement is key in a child's learning and success. Please un-pause the pro grants and keep parent engagement alive for the parents and children of Ontario.

As Co-Chair of the Parent Council at St. Clement Catholic School, I am hoping that the Provincial Government will reinstate this very important program that encourages parent engagement. The timing of this "pause" was particularly unfortunate, as many parent councils had already had to book sessions and have been left in a bind.
