Actually it is 9 public schools in the history of the the girls tournament. That is the 40 years of basketball. If you look at the percentage over the last 26 years private schools have won the championship 98% of the time. I'll take those odds in the lottery anytime. The numbers just don't add up. There are currently 10 private schools in class A and 42 public schools. So tell me how private schools can win that percentage of championships. There is only one way and that is they recruite the best player from the other schools, something that a public school can not do.

Let them have their own class. A, AARON, AAA, and private schools.

I understand that aspect, but I also understand that they get to play with a different set of rules that they are using to their advantage. Not asking for them to be black balled or whatever you may call it but there's got to be a more competitive way of doing things to where the smallest schools aren't having to compete against schools that are using the rule set to further their athletic programs. I think there's only been 10 public schools win the girls basketball title in the last 30 years. And not all private schools are doing this so I don't see moving them all up but there has to be a formula or something that advances them in classification as they win titles and not just leave them in the smallest classification. Competitive fairness is all we are trying to push here.

Aaron you need to get in touch with the real world. We are talking about WV not everyone has a private school where they can send their kids. Most of us have a public school where are kids go. Plus we are talking about A school's which by the way are the smallest schools not the largest.

To be honest if most parents are like me now days I send my kids to private school not just for sports but in my opinion they get a better education they more ap classes and with consolidation schools are to big and kids get left out they probably have kids with better talent in the school but they don't play sports cause they don't have right last name

In the last 40 years I believe a public school has won the championship 10 times, and I'm sure 40 even 20 years ago things wasn't happening like they are now.

Well something should have been done, maybe this will end up showing that the WVSSAC is just setting up there drawing paychecks and not not doing their jobs. Either way, just want the same rule set for everyone, right now your better off being anywhere other than Class A.

It's hard to teach our children to play fair and then explain why private schools have other rules. Private schools should not be allowed to play in A divisions. Their schools are located in cities that do not meet A criteria.

Quit acting like public schools don't recruit and saying it's only private schools. My kids go to private school and their friends have messages from coaches asking them to leave and go to there school even turned it in and guess what nothing was done so people need to quit acting like this is only a private school thing

Lol, how about just classifying the schools by the same rule sets. I wouldn't care if they lumped them all together like Ky as long as they all played by the same rules.

No high school team should be allowed to recruit unless they want their own class and region. Coming from a single A school it's tough for our teams to compete with teams that recruit.

They can go anywhere???? There's zones that states where you go, now there's some overlapping zones where the families can decide which way they want to go but that has nothing to do with what we are talking about here. Either you agree and sign it or you disagree and don't, it's really not that hard.
