Principles of Computer Science (AP) Petition

I'm not in Comp sci, but I agree that it should be counted towards your GPA.

Please weight this class. I had taken this class on the premise of it weighting my GPA.

Declining to put computer science as an AP course undervalues it's importance and essentially makes it just as important as a class like art. This is not fair or acceptable.

I took this class thinking it would be weighted and it making it no longer weighed even though students signed up under the assumption it was is unfair. Also it is an extremely important class to take because it is STEM and ver important in our future and making it no longer weighed would take away incentives for people to take the class and lead to tons of people dropping out. People wouldn't be pushed to try as hard or actually learn things. On top of that, with comp-sci being such an important thing to learn, (technology is our future) and will less students taking this crucial class, it could have several negative impacts. ~3 am just got back from 4 days of watching debate... just please make it weighed it, it leads to less stress in students which makes us happier? :)

Although I do feel that misinforming students regarding critical class information is wrong, I do not agree with signing up for classes in order to maximize your rank or GPA. In a way this could be positive because it encourages students to take classes they enjoy or are interested in, as opposed to classes they feel the need to take in order to look good for college applications.

We were told as a student body that APCSP will be a weighted class in August. They cannot change their decision after we sign up for the course it isn't really fair.

I feel like students signing up for this class had the expectation of going into an AP class that would boost their GPA. Not including this boost is unfair and information was not fully provided for students that selected this course. Not only are we taking the AP test, we've also been working through many tasks and assignments throughout the year in order to get the grades that we have, and we have been told and thought that the class would be put on an AP scale. I'm just the type to type this up on a petition, huh.
