The rent at The Forest in Farmington has increased significantly, forcing many medical and dental students to either leave or struggle to pay their bills. Help us show the School of Medicine/ Dental Medicine that this is a significant impact on the students who live here!
The stories coming in from residents about these rent hikes are getting harder to ignore. Forward this petition link to your classmates and email the Dean of Medicine today to demand they address this housing crisis.

I am looking at moving out of state because I literally cannot make ends meet with these new rates. Disappointing.

Due to rent increases I could not renew the lease at my previous apartment in glastonbury. It was a 400 square foot studio with no closet. The rent was increased from $1150 per month to $1650 per month in May. It took me two months, to find a new place. I had to pay to have all my things put into store. I finally found a lease for July 23 in Middletown for $1350 per month. It is more than I want to pay but it was the only thing available within a 30 minute drive from Farmington in a safe community for less than 1400 a month.

As an MD/PhD student at UConn, this attempt to price gouge by the new landlords is completely unfair. Please help students!

The rent increase is exorbitant and untimely without benefit.
