Prevent relocation of drug addicts & vagrants from Durban to South Coast

STOP removal of vagrants,addicts and drug dealers from Durban CBD to lower Illova coast! Did not work in the past...all found their way back to Durban, leaving a destruction behind!

Fix the problem, don't move foreigners out of Durban to cause an issue here. Send them back to their country of origin if they are illegals. Generate an idea for those that are homeless, work to stay etc. This must be earned and not given lightly

As a serving police officer, I can say without a shadow of a doubt, this "relocation" will spike crime rates in the area and lead to general degradation and further decay of the area. Relocation is simply transferring or even spreading an already out of control problem

We have been asking for a shelter for women and children but instead we get this!!! No!

Relocating these people to Illovo is not a solution and will only cause more problems and chaos.

I am 100% against this. We have our hands full already from a crime perspective, vagrants and drug addicts. Instead of shifting the problem out of site, government should deal with the issue and build shelters for the people and have working rehabs. In theory a pretty picture, but in practice a nightmare for residents.

By moving these people you will be moving the habits too, the crime and drugs. We already have enough crime in our areas. We don't need more.

I am totally against this move for all the reasons stated above.

I am totally Against this decision by Ethekwini Municipality as this is a residential area with a primary school in the immediate vicinity of the halfway house and this community consists of majority elderly pensioners.

I oppose the suggestion of removing the homeless/drug addicted from the Durban CBD area and bringing them to a family neighborhood in Illovo. This has not been fairly discussed amongst the community it will directly affect, and we do not feel it is a safe option for the majority of the residents it will affect in comparison to the minority whom they would like to rehome.

The community already has enough to deal with we don't need anymore criminality in our district / area.
