I grew up not observant, but always expected Jewish events to be completely kosher. When my conservative youth group went to a not kosher place to eat on the way home from a trip, I stopped going to that youth group specifically for that reason. I was 14 years old and knew the youth group was no longer a place for a Jewish teenager.

I would never have supported the 92nd Street Y when I lived in Manhattan if they had not been kosher.
To my knowledge the 92nd St. Y was always Kosher. I am not. but I believe that it should continue for those who are.

It would be a shame not to include a proud sector of the Jewish community.

The Y should understand that non-observant Jews are, according to the prestigious Pew report, a rapidly shrinking minority, while observant Judaism is growing exponentially. By shutting us out, the Y is signing its own death warrant.

It is a chilul hashem that the 92nd Y would cater an event "kosher style"(traif),
But th at is to be expected if the organization is being led by Reform Rabbis. Kashrut by that leadership does not exist.

It took UJA/Federation many years to serve only kosher.
The 92 St Y is going to shut out a substantial number of observant Jews.

This is horrific. The 92nd Street Y is a Jewush organization. Inclusiveness begins at home. Home means providing kosher food so all can enjoy.

No excuse for this. It is just easy to serve kosher as non-kosher.

What is wrong these days with so many Jews turning their backs on Sinai and the Torah? I hope that this travesty is stopped in its tracks.

We must constantly fight to prevent this move towards secularism that is being promoted here.
This is our Egypt of today and we must do everything to uphold true Torah values and strict adherence.

Jewish organizations should strive to be inclusive of all Jews.
