If your represent yourself as an orginization serving/representing the greater jewish community of nyc, It behooves you to serve only kosher food at your official event.

Why not be all inclusive and make sure these events stay kosher? What loss is there to the "Y". Really do not understand.

Shame on you to use tactics that divide jews. There must be at least 500 kosher caterers in the New York metropolitan area. It's only a self hating Jew that could've come up with such an idea.

While the text of this petition might be a bit too harsh, the Y should seriously consider changing its event even at this late date. The reasons Jewishly affiliated organizations should only host events where dietary laws are observed (and inclusive laws, not avant-garde interpretations from the left coast) are too obvious and innumerable to list. It seems self-evident that an inclusive Jewishly identified institution would want to host only Kosher events regardless of the predilections of its members and most attendees.

a bowal movement has more worth than the vile reform movement. Many of its memebers aren't even Jewish. AND I AM NOT FRUM

Please do not discriminate & infringe on the strict dietary requirements which torah observant jews need to follow.

"Kosher Style" is not Kosher. Even if you use Vegetarian or Fish, it doesn't matter, according to the Tanach. Find a Kosher Caterer who will suit all of your needs AND your wallet.

This is an outrage and demonstrates that the JCC wishes to distance itself from Conservative & Orthodox Jews.

As a teen volunteer at the Y in the 90's, I (and other kosher keeping individuals) were generously accommodated by our supervisor making the gala event kosher. I hope the Y will continue to be accommodating to kosher-keepers at its Dinner.

The 92nd Street Y has always been the most inclusive institution without drawing attention to religious observance or lack thereof. By deviating from long established practice of kosher catering for all we are displaying observance or non-observance in the public square and creating division in the "Y" for all to see, which never was there before. It is really sad to see the clock being turned back to a time long gone when a schism in the Jewish community was purposely created in exactly the same way. Hopefully history will not be repeated.

I generally feel I should mind my own business in such manners, as I try to be a tolerant person, but this is a disgrace and insult.
