The 92nd Street Y is a Jewish Organization; therefore it should accommodate all Jews, and there should be food that can be eaten by all of the attendees.

perplexed?? the 92nd St Y needs to look at its mission statement and its affiliation with the UJA. "As a proudly Jewish organization, 92Y enthusiastically welcomes and reaches out to people of all ages, races, faiths and backgrounds while embracing Jewish values ... As a proudly Jewish organization, 92Y creates meaningful, relevant and joyous Jewish experiences for all those who want to connect with Jewish life and finds new ways to bring our rich tradition into dialogue with the modern world..

Shame on you! There is so much evil in the world! Put your efforts towards change for the good. Don't tamper with tradition.

It is hypocrisy to claim to be a Jeeish organization and then purposely exclude those who keep the laws of kashrut which are hallmarks of Jewish practice. The first Reform rabbi graduation dinner was also trayf--how many of their descendants are Jewish today??

What happened to the long rich history of JCC's and Y's being inclusive and pluralistic? Very sad that they would want to exclude an active and meaningful subset of the Jewish community, say nothing of the irresponsible attempt to cast the kashrut of the event as authentic...deplorable

This is a disgrace and an affront to all Jews especially at this time when Jews are facing unprecedented anti semitism. Nothing worse than self hating Jews.

I appreciate the sentiments in most of the messages posted, though the hostility and lack of perceived "Ahavat Yisrael" should be toned down. Nevertheless, how do we know that the 92Y, it's leadership, and its major benefactor, UJA, are aware of our concerns. I urge everyone who cares to call the following people: Henry Timms - Executive Direction, 212-415-5678. Stuart Ellman, Chairman of the Board, Partner RRE Ventures, 212-418-5100 Marc Lipschultz, President, Partner Owl Creek, 888-215-5678 Eric Goldstein, CEO UJA-Federation, 212-836-1891

The Y does so much good work. We hope you will reconsider serving non-Kosher food at your upcoming Gala.

Someone should set this so called Rabbi straight. Just like you lcan't rewrite history, you can't rewrite the Torah. Get rid of him!!

Shame on Mr Rubenstein for putting out such an idea to propose biblically kosher food . Kosher dietary laws are directly linked to the continuity and spiritual well being of the Jewish people and jewish law (The Torah) dictates what food we are allowed and not allowed to consume. It would be a shame a tragedy to allow and serve such food. I hereby voice my opinion to say no to the idea. Please , reprimand Mr . Rubenstein for such actions and keep the JCC of 92nd st a jewish home.
