I'm not even s part of tdsb, but I go to school that has a regional art program, so I know how much specialized programs can improve a student's high school life.

Programs like Claude Watson and ESA provide an empowering community for students who are uniquely passionate about the arts. It would be incredibly detrimental to so many young people were these opportunities and supportive school communities taken away.

I can't believe TDSB would destroy so much like this... This is completely unacceptable and should never happen. We are people too, who need to express our emotions and communicate our opinions... ESA Film has so far been the best experience of my life! Many others have led very successful lives graduating from schools like Etobicoke School of the Arts and it almost seems like TDSB is trying to make us all fit a certain standard by learning all the same things. We are all different and we all require different ways to learn properly, and some of us already know exactly what we want to do in life. If TDSB tries to get rid of specialized programs, they are trying to get rid of individuality and originality, which is ultimately limits EVERYONE and results in a boring society and mundane community. We need to be heard, we need to have a choice. TDSB can't just take away our lives like this.

We need specialized programs. Not all students learn the same way. Equity is giving everyone what they need to succeed. Not giving different people the same thing and expecting them to all succeed when some of us can't. Everyone is different. We can't be forced to be the same. That kills who we are as people. We're all different. We should embrace that, not force everyone to be the same.

Hey equity team at TDSB, learn how to write a persuasive paragraph, it seems as if you are letting everyone know how bad your idea is (which is true) all special programs in the TDSB are free, or are able to be free through financial assistance. The programs you propose to change will in fact limit the creativity, continuity and motivation to even attend school overall. These programs allow people like me to be, as stated in my IEP, with like minded peers. Taking away the freedom to chose between programs and especially where you go in terms of location of the highschool by taking away optional attendance, in fact has nothing to do with equity (If you actaully went to school and learned the difference between equity and equality, you would have named yourselves something different) and in fact has everything to do with equality. Right now each student in the tdsb is able apply to most programs they choose, this provides them with chances to get what they need individually to learn. This is equitable. What you are imposing is that everyone should get the same opportunities education and school experience. This is called equality, which you obviously didn't know. Attending the TDSB student speak conference gave me a beautiful perspective on how horribly to tdsb really wants to learn about students opinions. We were told that we would have a chance to SPEAK UP about problems in our school but what really happened was that you invited someone to speak over us, even if they are going to Harvard (I may add because of the STEM programs she had at her TDSB school), which is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated by anyone at my school. Tolerated meaning essentially the twisted truth or lies you told students to make them think they had a voice and then to take it away from them at the most crucial time. As a student attending a school which is only a specialized program, I would assume it is closing, and if this is so, you will have so much backlash from so many

I go to ESA. The definition of equity is giving everyone what they need to succeed. Not giving everyone the same thing when it won't benefit them all. There are over 50 schools in the TDSB with specialized programs. People need these. We can't become a melting pot.

Our country needs talented people to make itself better and keep being one o of the developed country in the world. Specialized program could find out and educate such persons to fulfill this.

Donot agreen with it! Special programm is very good and fair to students who have special gift! If country want to be strong, they must support their kids especially for gifted kids! They should be treated fairly and have quality resource for them further and deep development!
