I love my new school I have made so many new friends I have had so many opportunity’s that my home high school does not have. It’s so amazing to go to a school where everyone is there to do what they love and not Just a place you go everyday and everyday your absolutely miserable. Please keep speachilzed programs

Ridiculous to remove programs like HSP program! Cost savings for TDSB .. disgusting!

This is not the right direction to go!

What does that mean about TDSB's equalization of the educational resources? Then, hope every single teacher can play magic on their 20 more students to fill their individual needs? How exactly the group classes should be told? Or, there shouldn't be any group classes at all because teachers do not suppose to leave any students behind...do they have proper research paper and rational behind? Or, just a simple concept of equalization? Such an irresponsible behavior!

ESA is the best high school in Ontario. It is an incredibly special place, do not discontinue this school and other similar schools!

This is absurd. These specialized programs are not unfair to students in any way whatsoever. Taking them away will only cause students to really feel like they've been treated unfairly because they've been separated from most of the people they know and will be around very few like minded students. So if the tdsb truly cares about their students and "what's fair" they would get rid of this silly idea and let everyone be.

These programs are so important for kids that learn differently. Not only for academics but socially as well.

I was in the gifted program for my 3 years of middle school, and it was the best time of my life. I could do my learning with the people who thought just like me, and gave students like us with IEPs that option for extra support. Not giving students the opportunity to learn the way they are most comfortable is like taking away any safety blanket they might have, and all this would be doing is throwing all different types of mindsets into the same classroom, where there is absolutely no benefit for any of the students, nor the teachers.

Those programs are open to public and anyone can apply. Do not see why it did not offer equal opportunity.

TDSB should focus on enhancing these programs to have more tiers to include more kids of various learning and development needs instead of removing them.

Get your act together TDSB and make decisions in the best interests of students for a change. These programs are invaluable.

What a loss it would be to see these programs disappear...

My son graduated from Cyber Arts at Don Mills C.I. it was an invaluable four years, allowing him to enter the career of his choice with confidence and success.

Really really unfair. This will cause unhappy students forced to be put in environments where they feel uncomfortable or unsafe to learn. Will not meet the expectations of certain students who learn in different ways. So many schools will become overpopulated and many other problems will arise. It's a students choice on where they want to go to school to pursue an educational pathway of their choice. No one should be able to dictate that.

TDSB should invest more money and other resources onto these specialized programs instead of phasing them out.

Specialty schools are jewels for Toronto public education. Some of Canada's greatest artists have emerged from these places. They are working well. As with all schools, they can be improved. But to summarily end them would be a travesty.

Hi, I was a former TDSB student and I do not want to see opportunities shut down on the people who work hard to get to their position. Do not change anything about these programs. Please.

NO! My sister goes to an art school and she will be devastated if you get rid of this, please no!
