This sounds like a dumb idea and I think that people in these programs worked hard to get there, and they shouldn't be shut down on them.

This proposal actually does the OPPOSITE of equity. We are not robots. Everyone is born with different strengths and needs. This proposal removes the opportunity for so many children, but especially for the ones least fortunate, as they won't have the means for the extra enrichment or help they would have otherwise gotten In a specialized program more suited to their gifts.

Eliminating specialized programs won’t address equity issues as they are open to all students equally.

Please preserve our arts schools! They are are the future for Canadian culture and creativity. It would be a disastrous mistake to eliminate these creative hubs.

Etobicoke School of the Arts saved me growing up and made me the person I am today. Don't deny other children the same opportunities.

The TDSB shouldn’t be fazing out programs like what we have at ESA. If anything they should be investing more time and money in to it.

There are hundreds of students who only feel at home because of their specialized programs. All of us will be forced to attend schools that we were purposefully avoiding. This is ridiculous and will cause so many programs. It’s like shutting down IB in Toronto!

Having been a teacher for 20 years, it is absurd, truly absurd for the 'board' of elected 'non teachers' to believe that you can take one teacher, any teacher, and they can issue all learning needs from MID to gifted in one room. You are creating the worst of inequities, ensuring learning for NONE.

My best friend is in a specialty program in Toronto. She dosnt even live in Toronto, she lives right beside a school which she went to for 1 year but didn’t enjoy it. Now that she’s in a specialty program she loves it and I would hate to see her lose what she loves about school

I'm in grade 7 at CH Best in the Cyber Arts program and for the first time in years, I'm excited to go to school. Please don't get rid of this program!

Students are thriving in these programs. What kind of school board eliminates the opportunity for young people to find out who they are, and who they want to be? Shame.
