I love my art school (wex) and it's like an escape from my old fake friends. Please don't send me back to them.

I have personally helped a number of students attend the open auditions and get accepted into 5 of these excellent Vocal music programs, which are doing amazing things with their program, choirs, classes, even getting musically motivated Gr 9 students to start transcribing music by ear, etc. They are a jewel, and need to be replicated, not repealed. There has been similar talk for TCDSB, YCDSB. Why talk of eliminating the best programs that are working? Learn from them, replicate them.

TDSB should keep those Specialized Programs let those kids learn more what they like to learn.

Not all kids are created alike. Not all schools should be alike.

People need special programs, why stop them?

The specialized schools keep families *in* the TDSB who would otherwise leave it, worsening the situation for everyone. The solution is to expand, extend, and increase the specialized programs, not eliminate them.

It is important that kids have the opportunity to go to a school where they get the chance to partake in activities in which they feel included (arts, leadership, etc.)

KEEP THE ARTS they help so much students express how they feel and they help students grow out of their comfort zone!!!

I see this as the TDSB moving in the wrong direction. Specialized programs are an integral part of education especially for this not with access to private schools who often have further resources for furthering learning. I 100% oppose this.

Every single person in the specialized program worked very hard to get where they are. Adults always tell us to follow our dreams, but by shutting down these programs your stopping us from doing just that.

I cannot believe TDSB would do such a thing its like messed up. Thousands of students and staff will no longer get what they deserve. Talented students being treated as talented students is perfectly fair. Screw tads

I recently left the TDSB at my old school I one many awards for leadership and other activities (Ontario principle council). I would sometimes show up and be the only one at the meetings I cannot imagine what kind of person I would be if I did not go to the meetings and how the other students would not get as many great learning opportunity’s as I did

I am all for equity, and all for making programs more accessible to all, but I fail to see how removing all specialized programs would be remotely helpful. Make more available, sure – but removing them completely hurts everyone.
