Specialized programs give us a way to express our selves make us feel wanted keep us outta trouble keep us focused on grades which is what the Tdsb should want from their student

Fair is keeping these school open for kids who love and need these specialized forms of education. Taking us out of our schools isn’t the right thing to do at all.

Dedication, passion, time management, and self confidence can all be taught through academic courses, not just arts education.

Unfair - students are worked hard to get into these programs. They are setting themselves up for futures. Why would you take this away

By taking this away, they’re taking away something some of us want to pursue.

This plan to “phase out specialized programs” is absolutely crazy. art schools and art/specialized programs encourage a safe environment for students to express themselves and achieve higher education. I fail to understand how the TDSB could possibly think that this is a good idea that will benefit the eductional system. Seems counterproductive to me.

Phasing out Specialized Programs undoubtedly does more harm than good. I fail to see how that in any way, shape, or form is equitable. How I view it is the opposite. Specialized Programs are vital for helping students and young people thrive and survive, not only in the education system, but also wherever they'll end up afterwards. Taking that away from us will be worse than just leaving things the way they are.

Students like me live for specialized programs like performing arts. It’s what keeps us going. If they take that away, we won’t know what we’ll live for. They think that it’s hindering us from learning and growing, but it’s actually the sole purpose of our growth. Thousands of talents will go to waste.

This is disappointing. I thought TDSB was better than this. You don’t realize how much work people in specialized programs work to be here. You killing dreams 1 by 1

I am a product of French immersion, Claude Watson and the gifted program. The TDSB specialized programs have shaped my career and my life outside in myriad positive ways. Please don't take these opportunities away from our youth - especially CWSA!!

Being able to be part of an arts program has allowed me to express myself in so many ways and has given me the confidence to be myself. Before I was in an arts school I was bullied and felt pressured by my peers to be someone I wasn't. Arts schools and programs allow a huge diversity of personalities to combine together, without the fear of being left out, and encourage new friendships and life long bonds to start. Taking away arts programs will cause not only me but thousands of other kids in the TDSB to be placed in an environment where they're scared to be themselves around others. Nobody should feel like they aren't aloud to express themselves in their schools and to their peers. For these many reasons I am extremely opposed to removing arts programs from the TDSB and I hope the school board sees how much heartbreak and worry would be created in these kids lives if they were to remove them.
