I Disagree with the proposed changes to eliminate the disparities of schools. On the contrary, I believe competition and varieties should exist to meet the different needs of the students. General schools should be encouraged to learn from those sucesssful programs and improve their quality of education. Eliminating those wonderful programs is harmful to the existing public education system.

I was part of the TOPS program and it was one of the most important things in my education. It is a fantastic program that should not be cancelled.

Inclusive also means including those talented students. They have special needs, having every students included doesn't mean exclude talented students from special education.

As a student in a specialized program, I find it absurd that they call this equity. The kids who want to go to these specialized programs apply and/or go through auditions and interviews. EVERYONE GETS AN EQUAL CHANCE. Equity means giving everyone the same CHANCE, not everyone getting the same thing. Doing this would be the same thing and getting rid of the Ivy League. THESE SCHOOLS EXIST FOR A REASON. If you don't get into a specialized program, then maybe you're just better at something else and of course we should give those students chances to explore what they are good at too. But the kids who do get in to these programs are genuinely interested and have the potential to take on these programs. Taking away these programs is the same thing as taking away the chances and possibilities of us students.

Equity does not mean teaching everyone the same. Every students are different, like my son is very talented in Math and Science. To let him learn the same thing with some kids that not talented at Math and Science will make him bored to death.

I am a Claude Watson graduate. I came from an immigrant family with nothing. I was able to flourish because of the artistic environment of an art school!!!
