While inequity may exist in TDSB schools, forcing students to attend their home schools will not fix this. Instead, it is a shameless power grab by the TDSB to show off their "world leading equity", at the expense of their students education.

Tops program is a very good program. It does encourage students to pursue their dreams and learn from each other. We strong support this program.

As a graduate of one of these specialized programs I am thoroughly disgusted that this new plan is being proposed. Programs like mine allow students to develop their own colours and truly explore what they want to do in the future. To strip that of students is losing a sense of individuality. Sorry but not sorry the reason why I'm studying what I'm studying right now in college is because of my specialized program.

This is not good idea to phase out the specialized program.

Absurd. Robbing students of their rights to select schools according to their interests and abilities. TDSB will lost tons of studebts to other alternatives such as private schools or catholic schools.

I disagree this proposal of cancel special program. Since TDSB wants everyone has equal opportunity, then they really think about the students who have special learning needs. All special program offers equal audition process. If you want to learn, you will find a program fit you.

Specialized programs are for kids that are genuinely interested in those activities; that are passionate and willing to work hard for what they love. Removing them does not promote equity, it stops children from pursuing their passions.
