Arts is incredibly important to success in students lives, socially and educationally. It's just downright stupid to take that away from kids.

Programs like Claude Watson give artistic students the skill and discipline to carry their art forward in their lives. Taking away this opportunity would be shameful.

This would be a devastating loss for TDSB. Maybe TDSB SHOULD LOOK AT training teachers to get class control. Maybe then the students would actually learn something. Claude kids are disciplined and hard-working- there is nothing elitist about that. Many students come out of Claude Watson ready to be the future leaders in our world. It is not their fault that they have worked diligently and consistently to get where they are. Removing this program would do nothing but pull the TDSB STUDENTS further down the drain, where many of them are headed already. Maybe TDSB should cancel wasting funds by doing district reviews and circulating principals in schools to 'make observations'. I gag when I find out how my tax dollars are being spent. Equity has nothing to do with hard work and dedication. It has to do with ifeering the same thing to everyone. Hard work and dedication are offered to everyone. Unfortunately though, many students in the TDSB go to school not ready to learn and have parents that are equally as destructive to our school system. I am going to fight to the end to keep these schools.

These programs not only benefit students within the program, it also helps promote competition that is good for the entire school body. Without these specialized programs, a lot of talented students will be filled with four years of boredom while international students coming into university here in North America will have their tools polished and have a competitive edge.

The specialized programs that the TDSB offered to me really allowed me to grow as a student and has allowed me to me everlasting friendships to this day.

I wouldn't be where I'm at in my career with Claude Watson School for the Arts. Would be a huge blow to lose programs such as this!

It is very important to keep the special programs for the special needs students. All entrance exams or auditions are equal for all the kids.

To put simply and with complete gratitude to the establishment that created the Claude Watson Arts Program in the first place, I beg you to sustain this exemplary program that has benefited my life, along with so many others. No one believes that students shouldn't have the opportunities to reach their fullest potential, but knocking down programs such as CW, as well as IB or TOPs, doesn't serve to reduce the gap with access to heightened education, it will prove to increase it. Instead, I hope that the TDSB will create more specialized programs, so that more youth will have access to equal opportunities, not a lack thereof.

Specialized programs are designed to challenge tomorrow's doctors, lawyers, teachers, scientists, etc. Phasing out specialized programs would result in a potential loss of these candidates.

C'mon guys, really? These programs are awesome and you just wanna take them away? I see no reason why, if people can't get in, they can't get in. It's the hard truth but for anybody who worked hard enough to get in, it's their reward. If everything is against you and you can't get in, yeah I get it but they have their programs to to help them achieve greater things as well.

These programs are fundamental in encouraging learning and developing well-rounded individuals. Phasing them out will have a contradictory effect. Rather than educating students, you would be discouraging those who are capable of and seek a specific (i.e. arts programs) or higher (i.e. IB programs) form of education.
