People need to look up the history of the war and flag , there self and not go bye what they have heard. Are what someone has told them.

Sheep were only offended after their liberal Shepards told them they should be.

I am a member of the United Daughters' of the Confederacy, and the Daughters' of the American Revolution, of which organizations, I am proud to be affiliated with, due to my ancestry of whom fought in uniform during those WARS! I am proud of my Southern heritage, but that pride does NOT automatically translate to mean that I condone slavery of any human being nor that I am a racist hiding beneath my Anglo-American skin color.

I don't understand how they can keep stomping on our rights and we are supposed to "do the right thing" to make sure everyone else is not offended in any way. What about us too? I never owned a slave, never been racist, but I love being in the South and all the good and bad that goes with it, but according to all these people somewhere I am the wrong one for flying a Confederate flag or saying I'm a Rebel. I just don't see how everyone is just letting this happen. Governor Bentley needs to back off and let ALABAMA vote on any changes.

If people think it'll stop at flags and monuments just keep your heads in the sand. The worst is yet to reveal itself.

We must stop this, it is getting way out of hand! If I KNEW I would not lose my job I would be more involved! Fear controls me I know, but I don't know how to change it.

Removing the monument and flag will not solve the problem. It goes way beyond the flag.

This has gotten out of hand and I am tired of it. Grown men and women acting like children, going from one subject to another because it suddenly offends them. It obviously didn't bother them this time last year. Stop running this country into the ground and trying to erase history.

These people should be ashamed. There is no use for this, people fought hard and died to protect us and now they take our monuments

This is part of our heritage, leave it where it is. It should remain on the grounds of courthouse.

This flag represents my heritage of 73 years. Why does the Confederate flag offend some folks? I am offended by some cultural garments, by those who burn, loot and rob in the name of "justice". Bottom line, everyone has rights these days to flaunt their beliefs that defy God's word, but that isn't allowed if you are conservative or christian. Keep all things that represent confederate history. The wimps in politics are soiling themselves, trying to be more pc than the others. Sure am disappointed in Bentley. Cowardly behavior leads to the total loss of character! Don't see any real men anymore

Foreigners who are now coming into this country are being treated like kings and queens and southerners who have confederate ancestors, and have been in this country for hundreds of years are being treated like 3rd rate citizens.

This flag means more than people who aren't from the south really know. Don't let this piece of history be banned because some idiot decided to use it as his symbol or hatred .

slavery and southern history are dovetailed together you cannot explain one without the other... It was a time in history.... Do not erase our history.... Our heritage... Are we to become like Russia? China and other countries that erase all signs of previous leaders? Is this really what we want to leave our children.....
