Please leave all history related monuments alone. It doesn't promote hate, violence, racism, or anything else negative. It's history...period. Our children need to have opportunity to learn & remember. People love learning about history, things our ancestors did or went through. This is part of it...why try to erase it? It still happened, it's still part of what happened in this country...no amount of people can change that. If we remove all of this part of our country's history, aren't we doing a disservice to our country?? Might we forget the Confederate soldiers who served? Don't they deserve recognition like every other soldier who served? Or will this be another disservice to our military personnel like our faithful Vietnam veterans? It sickens me! I have ancestors in my own family who were Confederate soldiers. Are we going to remove their grave markers that reflect that they were Confederate soldiers?? Over my dead body will such a disgraceful thing happen!!! Think about what it means to so many ppl. My grandfather served in WWII & was a POW. He would roll over in his grave to hear such nonsense! Think about who you're offending & hurting. They are the ones that matter.

We've gone from the removal of a flag, to the desecration of statues, monuments, and graves of Confederate soldiers who are in fact U.S. veterans. This needs to stop.

I belive that veterans past future and present should be honored as our history!it should be illegal to disturb such sites?

If you forget history you're bound to repeat it I believe it goes. I also believe history itself paints a bad picture of many southerners by making it seem the war between the states was solely fought over the issue of slavery. Nobody remembers the true issue was more simply the state's right to decide what was best for it's people.

Erasing history is not the answer to anything. Peolle need to change. Statue comes down, people still have hate. As having ancestors that fought on both sides, it is about recognizing and honoring our military veterans regardless of the war they served in. Many of different faith and race served in every war. To erase our history is too erase who we are everywhere.

Should we ban things about our U.S Presidents, our founding Fathers as well because they owned slaves? No, we shouldn't be banning anything.WE can't all like or agree on everything. That's life.

Heritage, not hate. People Wanting to remove our history is no different. Than ISIS destroying old historical artifacts. Just because they do not agree with it. This is a free country that has a freedom of speech. We have to stop this changing of our history.
