We have been assisting newly arrived refugees into the Rochester area for the last 20 years. We
provide the refugees with appropriate clothing for our harsh
winters, completely furnish their
apartments (done by Catholic Family Center) and tutor 100
refugees a week to speak English,
pass Citizenship Exams and perform
well in schools.

Our community in Rochester, NY is wonderfully rich in diversity! We welcome those who come to escape harm and work hard to make their way in a new land. These refugees are strong and courageous brothers and sisters; Rochester is a better place because of them. Our arms are open, wanting to embrace more. Please make that possible!

"REAL REFUGEES" are not STRANGERS. They are "VICTIMS". "THE REAL VICTIMS". They look strange to them who are not victims of war, prosecutions, discrimination, tortures , suppression and inhumanity and many more. They are not like the ones "POURING NOW IN US SOUTHERN BOARDER". Real Refugees want to live relieved lives. Free of Chaotic Trauma. They want to come legally. They don't seek asylum in other country to invade its sovereignty. Welcome those country thinks will not be a threat to its SOVEREIGNTY.

As a Catholic I believe that we have an obligation to help the huge number of refugees in the world, the USA being a rich and large country that can accomodate many more citizens. Immigrants become a contributing population to this country.
I myself was an immigrant and have contributed to the good of this country by being a highschool science teacher during my professional years.

I believe we need to read others as we would wish to be treated. Our brothers and sisters around the world need our help as they flee oppressive governments and oppression. WE can stretch and offer to make room for more refugees.
