The rufugees that I have known are all honest and hard working who want to contribute to our country by becoming good citizens.

With great hope that our nation's "First Lady's" experience with immigration will inspire understanding from a humanitarian perspective. Hope that a knowledge will emerge that for any number of a multitude of reasons, a person of worth and dignity may have to leave their country of origin. Hope that we can see together that these people that have been displaced will then need new homes. Hope that we can treat the resources of which we have been blessed as that which they truly are: gifts to be shared.

The interconnectedness of the global community is a fact of life. How that interconnectedness is embraced, fostered and advanced on a global and LOCAL level determines our future. And the future is here.

Refugees have been thoroughly vetted and waited for years to be admitted to the U.S. They value this country and desire to be good citizens.
