As a resident of Valley View Estates, I deeply concerned with proposal to build the Ashcroft Ridge Subdivision. Not only will this subdivision increase traffic congestion and make the roads unsafe for our children and school buses, but it will bring an added burden to our already overpopulated schools.
Additionally, I am concerned with the impact that the construction and blasting will have on our existing homes- I have heard from other homeowners who live near the building site of Ovations, that there are reported problems with cracked walls and countertops due to the blasting required to build Ovations.
Finally, am concerned with the wildlife that lives on this undeveloped land. Hasn't there been enough land taken from the wildlife already? Isn't the city happy enough with the other new developments being built? Won't they bill enough tax revenues with those new developments?
While the city may view the approval of this development as positive for their tax revenue, I do believe the negatives are far greater.
Unfortunately if this gets passed the only people that suffer are the residents, the city remains as status quo. They will continue to collect their tax revenue. Instead of using new housing as a way to increase tax revenue, maybe they should need to figure out where they can make cuts as to help them with their budgeting issues.
