Our roads, Parking and general infrastructure can’t take an intensification. Building over 3 stories will destroy the town. I appreciate that the proposed buildings are aesthetically interesting, but the people will be looking down into the now-shaded yards of the surrounding homes. Uncomfortable all around.

Westdale is one of the first planned communities in Canada. The original design included lower density and there is reason we should not exceed 3 levels. If developers are allowed to build hyper-dense dwellings, we will lose Westdale as a cultural, walkable, heritage gem. We cannot allow for a single-agenda item like dense housing to breakdown the very thing that makes Westdale special and amazing. No more than 3 floors!

We agree development must not exceed 3 storeys in Westdale Village.
In addition what is the status of the city listing and controlling student housing for the safety of the renters?
There is plenty of undeveloped and under-developed land in this ward. There is no need to demolish functioning buildings / businesses to build a 6 storey tower. It's also paying lip service to environmental causes as the environmental impact of demolishing and rebuilding is huge. Some background readingon on demo vs refurbishment: https://communionarchitects.com/article/sustainable-refurbishing-rebuilding/
Terrible idea to put this thing up in Westdale.

Keep the charm Westdale is known for and don't allow this huge development to take place. Max should be 3 stories and ensure there is adequate on site parking within the complex itself.

If McMaster wants to keep expanding which in turn fuels these types of development they should either expand in downtown Hamilton or provide enough housing on campus. Westdale has more than its share of rental houses and it is negatively affecting the community that want to make a home here. We shall see how far Councillor Wilson is willing to go in defending this unique community.

The proposed building is entirely too large for the site.

I call on Councillor Maureen Wilson to champion balance in infill development in Westdale. There needs to be a balance between the developer’s right to build and the rights of the established community. New developments should not seriously alter the character of the existing neighborhood or reduce the enjoyment of one’s home in the community.

The proposed structure is entirely out of place in terms of preserving the character of Westdale both in height and density. Parking is an issue. It is important that action be taken to prevent this project.

Complacency about development standards in Westdale will set an unfortunate precedent that could become an insurmountable challenge for residents in years ahead. Where will it stop if we don't make a stand here and now?
This proposed building is NOT appropriate for the neighbourhood and must be adjusted to suit the charm, beauty and heritage of our village before being approved.

McMaster has already taken over too much of Westdale.

Not only is the building too large, the parking is ridiculously inadequate. Already parking is a problem in the area, and would become impossible if this project were to go ahead.

This proposed project is too large and would change the character of Westdale, also it has not addressed the parking issues that it would cause, let alone the constant disruption to the lives of our neighbours. This project should NOT be allowed!!!

This type of building would bring too much volume to Westdale and does not take into consideration how it will affect traffic and congestion, parking, safety, and noise. Crossfit Odeon has also been a contributing organization to our community and many of it's members live in Westdale.

I have personally experienced the impact of living in a neighborhood that is not grown in a mindful nature. I moved out of what was once beautifully kept area when it changed into one with overstuffed unkept housing. It was disheartening.
We now live in this neighborhood knowing it includes families, students and new Hamiltonians who want what the growing city has to offer. Development is inevitable, but it can be done in a mindful manner. Conscience decisions will enhance our community, not erode privacy and leave hard working residents in the shadows without a say.
