Our grandson is new to Odyssey Middle School. We are very frustrated with the Standards based grading system. It is not objective and it is confusing to both us and our grandson.

No benefit to students as the teachers are not held accountable to offering 4 level rigor. Nor is there follow up to achieve mastery if receive 2’s. Both are required for SNG to be effective & not just a traditional system but with numbers instead of letter grades! Numbers mean nothing at Liberty to communicate progress to students or parents!

I believe going away from the traditional letter grading system will be detrimental in preparing our kids for college. We would consider this move as a driver to put our kids in private school.

I beg of you NOT to change the current grading system at CHS. My son is a freshman and for the first time ever, he understands how his performance on one assignment can affect his overall class grade and he is highly motivated to do well.

Parent of middle and high schooler. Despise the 1-4 grading system in middle school, as does my kid. Bring back the weighted grading for AP classes at the high school. These classes are significantly more rigorous and should be graded as such.

As a parent of a current middle schooler, the new competency based system is overly complicated and is forcing us to spend many educational calories on non-value added activity. There are much bigger topics we should be spending our time on.

As a parent with 3 children in 3 schools in the Camas District, I strongly advocate for the high school system to remain. Based upon our use of the "new" system at the middle school level, this has created an undue barrier on my child's academics as it applies to his IEP. Traditional grading does not!

I agree that with the current grading policy of the can of school district if they change the grading policy not only will the rate of super seniors go up but the graduation on time rates will go down severely, the on-time graduation rate in Camas is 18.8% that is it if the grading system continues to change it might go down significantly and the students at Camas High School will suffer

Standards based grading sapped the desire to excel right out of my students when it was implemented in M.S.
