Ed Monte is advancing his own personal initiative that contradicts a much researched previous conclusion indicating the walking path should not supersede off road motorcycle usage at Thomaston Dam. Off road motorcyclists are taxpaying, law abiding citizens that deserve far more riding areas than the two in CT that are allowed.

I’m 43 and been riding here since I was 8. I don’t go out illegally riding or going on the streets. It’s not right to take away our last legal place to ride. There are plenty of places to walk including the paved area at the dam.

It is a great place to ride! There isn’t many places to ride off toad in Connecticut, so it would be a shame to close it

Leave some space for riders to go legally. Waterbury already has excessive biker congestion on the streets in warm weather

There is no reason for this area to close for riding dirt bikes. It is such a great sport for adults and children. We need places like this in ct for people to enjoy so that they stay in the state.

As a hiker and a motorcyclist, I have a thousand (actually 1743) hiking trails in CT to chose from, but only 2 places to legally ride in the woods. Please preserve this area for motorized off-road vehicles.

“The dam” is of one of two designated dirtbike recreation areas in the state. By taking it away you would be takin away the only legal location on this side of the state. It’s important to remember that the state collects, SALES TAX, PROPERTY TAX, AND REGISTRATION fees on dirtbikes. With no place to ride who would be willing to pay?

I grew up riding behind that Dam. Lots of great memories. Too bad that they are going to destroy that for future generations. But that's the way things are in this country. You can walk everywhere, no need for more walk trails.
