Preserve Thomaston Dam off road use

Riding is not a crime when we have places to legally ride. Do not take this place away from the community.

There are lots of places in CT to walk. Every state park, all the rail trails, town parks etc. There are only TWO public places to legally ride off road motorcycles. Please keep this open for us!

Living in CT has few perks. The Dam is one of them. I pay to register my bikes here just to ride here. We have 10 in the family right now. Lots of lost money for the state if they take the dam from us.

We shouldn't take away one of the few legal riding locations for the sake one more walking path. The state has many already.

Please let us keep our trails!

Please don’t shut down the only legal place to ride in CT!!!

CT needs to stop eliminating OHV trails. Every state around us has legal trails from dirt bikes to jeeps and trucks. Why is it a state so hungry to take our money is closing everything that is fun. People complain about the mass amounts of people riding their dort bikes amd atvs on the street, and this is wjat our state is going to do. It makes absolutely no sense. Open up all closed trails in the state and have ohv trail registration like every other state. Keep the Thomaston Damn open for dirt bikes and consider reopening old trails.

I love bicycle trails but not if they eliminate one of only two places to ride legally in conn. This will only increase illegal riding

Please keep motorized access a part of the Thomaston Dam. Closing access to one of the few available riding areas only serves to concentrate motorized trail users on dwindling locations, which accelerates decay of those remaining resources from overuse. Thank you.

My family and I use this area every riding season. We own a home in Washington, CT. and travel to meet other family members who ride. We stay in hotels, we eat out, we buy gas and souvenirs. Please, please do not take this away from my family. We are starting on a third generation of riders.

please leave the dam alone. reducing its available trail will only encourage increased illegal riding within our and surrounding states. Connecticut has unlimited trails for walkers, hikers and bicyclists. legally registered offroad motorcycles only have the dam.

Do not take away riding at the dam.

Thomaston dam provides legal and safe recreation for thousands of people who wouldn’t otherwise have it. There are over 1,500 miles of hiking trails already in CT.

Keep the dam for riders, there are plenty of other places for people to walk but not for kids to ride

Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) users need Thomaston Dam to be open. This is the only place like that in Connecticut. Other states are opening new OHV trails for their communities.

The off road motorcycle riding at Thomaston Dam needs to be protected and preserved for motorcycling.

Been dealing with closures like this for fifty years!!

I ride there every week and enjoy that there no one racing . Just people that enjoy riding and have fun!

I enjoy going here with my family, please don't shut down. We have no where to ride legally

The non motorized trail users have hundreds of miles of trails to use. How about keeping what small amount is available for motorized recreation.
