The Lummis Home "El Alisal" is a vital historical and cultural monument that must be preserved.

The Lummis Home embodies the spirit of Los Angeles and must be protected. Chas Lummis protected Native American treasures, built the first museum in Los Angeles and he was just a perfect example of the spirited people who created this great city.

You will be judged harshly for making the mistake of letting an important historical structure go to waste.

Giving Occidental College stewardship of local historical sites also increases its prestige - which is ALSO great for LA. As long as it seems clear the college will be able to maintain this responsibility for many years to come, this seems like a good deal.

Preserve LA's history rather than destroy and lose it. Lummis home tells an important story about an earlier time; it shouldn't be lost. It's education, art and grit.

This is so important. We need, we must preserve our history. I support the preservation of this lovely landmark that is part of highland park.

We urge Los Angeles to recognize the historic importance of the Lummis Home for the Arroyo Seco neighborhoods and all of Los Angeles.
