As part of a group of volunteers who started and worked our church organic food shelf garden for 21 years, I appreciate MFA's efforts to educate immigrant farmers in the methods of organic farming. I support their effort to purchase the Wilder Forest.

Having worked at Adjacent Warner Nature Center for 30 years, I am very familiar with the site and previous Wilder programming. The MFA vision is a wonderful one and financial support seems like a perfect fit on o many levels. Thanks for your support!aa

I am working with the Minnesota Food Association in the Youth & Family Involvement Program. We are teaching children and their families where their food comes from and why they should care. We believe in growing healthy food for healthy bodies and a healthy environment. We also educate our visitors about the value of small farms that produce quality food and a quality lifestyle that people from all backgrounds can enjoy. We support immigrant & minority farmers and train them to make a living doing what they know in a busy and complicated culture. Preserving Wilder Forest is a once-in-many-lifetimes opportunity to keep an area of precious natural resources protected, and available to a large metropolitan area in a way that encourages recreation and conservation. Once this land is gone, it can never be made the same again. It is sacred.

As a former board member of MFA, I heartily endorse this action. We need to step up in creative and vibrant ways, to provide access to healthy nutritious food for all of our people. MFA is an innovative partner in bringing this potential, a human right really, into being. Go Well, MFA.

I am a retired organic vegetable farmer. Since retiring, I have worked with immigrant and other starting farmers. In fact two graduates of the MFA program are now farming on our land: May Lee (Mhompaj's Gardens) and Paula Foreman (Encore Farm). MFA is a vital resource to the local food system and their preservation of the Wilder Forest property is an important legacy to the whole metro area community.

AS the long time President of the Gateway Trail Association, I have watched the good stewardship of the MN Food Association. The Gateway trail will adjoin this land as the Trail extends to O'Brien State Park.

My family has been involved with the Minnesota Food Association since its earliest beginnings. Preserving our natural areas for future generations is something for us to be proud about, especially the beautiful Wilder Forest with its rich ecological diversity.
As John Muir said, "In every walk in nature, one receives far more than he seeks." Let us not forget the benefit of preserving that which is wild, beautiful, and free.

Wilder Forest and the watershed should be saved. MFA contributes to the ecosystem through their mission. It would be tragic if we lost this site everyone can all enjoy. I support the use of public funding to protect Wilder Forest.
