BCPS needs to engage the community as much as possible, not just for appearances sake but to find legitimate solutions to problems which satisfy the community the school serves.

BCPS has continually ignored the needs and preferences of the Rodgers Forge community. As a longtime resident and mother of a rising middle schooler, I am appalled that our concerns are not given adequate consideration.

The area surrounding the school is part of what makes this community desirable. Mature trees and the landscape are part of the area's history, not to mention beautification.

A school is about so much more than the building and entrances and exits. What will it take for the people in BCPS making these decisions to understand that the people who live in the communities the schools are in are okay with some "less than perfect" designs that don't match their criteria or values when the opportunity cost is fully considered? It is possible that we have different values than the designers? We are the ones living in the community for lifetimes. We're okay with our choices regarding our schools. Please respect our desire to keep the green space. Please open a true dialogue.
