We support the position of the communtiy and agree the plans need to be modified without changing the traffic circulation and parking as it exists. But we fully agree and support the efforts to renovate the school.

During most of the warmer months most of the area around Dumbarton is dedicated to organized sports (baseball, soccer, lacrosse and field hockey). Because the fields are so well used, there is not much room left for "unorganized games," frisbee, kites, flag football, bike rides, "nerf wars", flying tiny helicopters, playing catch... I've watch countless kids spend time on in this field inventing all kinds of games. It would be shame to lose the space.

I am shocked that these developers are so environmentally unconscious. These plans won't yield additional parking, but will take down several large trees and considerable amount of green space for no good reason! I don't want my tax dollars paying for the removal of green, open space and contributing to the blight of the area. I don't want the over-development/concrete jungle of Towson to extend into Rodger's Forge. People should demand a proposal from a smarter developer/architectural firm. If they're making bad decisions on the exterior of Dumbarton Middle, I'm sure they're making dumb decisions on the interior as well.

As a Rodgers Forge resident and parent, I see the potential development of green space near Dumbarton Middle would not be helpful in terms of traffic, parking, and loss of outdoor space. Other options need to be explored!!

This is and will be if moved on an unnessasary plan. It takes more away from the community then what is realized I believe.

No more parking. Need the area for our kids! BCPS etc need to be more forthcoming with info. They need to stop doing things that work for them only when they are supposed to be working for us.

There is no need for more parking for the schools! We need the park so our kids have space to run and play

This seems to be a pretty predictable pattern. BCPS announces a new initiative/Building renovationplan/upgrade or whatever. It is always offered with a sense of urgency, funding will be lost if we don't act, limited time only, must strike while the fire is hot, no time to slowdown and interact with the taxpaying public plan. Much will be said supporting the desire for openness and dialog between School Board officials and concerned citizens. Statements from BCPS seeking input from the Communities effected will be issued, and seen during short snippets of the nightly news. Input will be provided by taxpayers. Statements will flow from Officials indicating that a Blue Ribbon panel of experts are reviewing the taxpayers input. Ultimately it will be determined that the plan is too deeply invested/committed/progressed toallow deviations ort changes presented by the taxpayers. And...the plan/project/upgrade is executed exactly as planned from the beginning. Promises will then be made to learn from the issues that were raised during this unfortunate execution sothat next time things will proceed differently.
