Preserve the Certificate in Meeting Management Program

I received my CMM in 2004 after completing and passing the pre-residency work, a week of residency, exam and business plan...the CMM is hard work and should remain the highest certification attainable in the meeting industry!

Ive signed this petition but am doubtful it will change the direction MPI has taken with the CMM program. it no longer will stand for the beacon of excellence and will be mirred by this fiasco.

It should stay the same and be promoted even more by MPI!

I think that the organization that manages the CMM needs a management change

The value of a certificate should never be reduced over time, only enhanced. It should also never be made easier to attain the CMM.

MPI has really sold it's soul on this one. I am incredibly upset.

We were very proud of our daughter Laurie Taylor Kemp when she received her credentials on your meeting Management Program. We were very impressed with what was required to receive this prestigious credential. As a business owner, credentials like the your CMM helps a company make a good decision on employing a talented qualified individual that has met the chalange and reached the pinnacle of Meeting Management. MPI needs to reevaluate their decision and do the right thing to maintain tough standards for this certification. Otherwise it is not worth the time, and expense for future candidates of this certification.

I hope MPI carefully considers the outcome of the current issues and listens to its constituents.

Change is welcomed when it raises the bar....I do not feel this plan raises the bar.

I am extremely disappointed -- no, make that disgusted -- with the direction that MPI has chosen to take the CMM designation. To dilute the meaning of the CMM is to insult everyone who has met the prior eligibility requirements, spent their time and money on the extended program, and gone to the effort to earn the designation. I seriously have to question whether MPI is an organizaation I even want to be associated with anymore, if this is the misguided way leadership has chosen to manage this program.

Think changing this program in this manner is a REALLY BAD idea.

I do not understand why MPI chose to dumb-down the original CMM accreditation rather than creating a new product that addresses the new audience. To me it sounds like a lack of creativity (or laziness) coming from the pinnacle of an industry known for its creativity. Change is not always good. Please keep CMM as is.

I believe if you are going to "start" or redesign a program, you dhould give it a new name and preserve the integrity of the original Designations.

Must keep the legacy of the program - otherwise what does it mean for those of us that went through the program if it now is opened to less experienced/qualified peioplke.

CMM should be a stand-alone program preserving the prestige it has earned over the years. There certainly is room for other certifications but it credentials that have been earned should not be granted to individuals without the same work and experience.
