The legacy and credentials in obtaining the CMM should remain. If not, what message are you sending to those who worked 10 years + to secure the designation? There's plenty of room within the industry for certifications and designations. Leave the CMM alone!!

I am disappointed with MPI. These new requirements completely devalue the hard work of those CMM's who invested the time, money and commitment necessary to achieve the once stringent program guidelines.

Although I welcome the integration of different areas of the event industry, here MPI has made an error in judgement. This certification demonstrated my strategic knowledge of the event industry. The new designation would actually not be appropriate for my role nor would I have ever sought it. I appreciate what MPI is trying to accomplish but agree overall that they should either use a new designation or keep the integrity of the CMM and have the SMMC earn the CMM. In an industry that is still relatively new, they are devaluing our expertise.

I'm exceptionally disappionted in the devaluation of the highly respected CMM credentials. It required a strong commitment to MPI and my professional development; not to mention the expense, time and commitment to meet the high standards of the program. Our industry would benefit from a different designation for the new MPI/GBTA program, and one that aligns with the qualifications; it shoudl not impact the CMM program.

I invested not only hard earned money but gave up significant time preparing for and earning my CMM. The time away from my small business and substantial personal time away from my toddler child was meant to enhance my career and allow me to be an elite carrier of a designation that was sought after and well respected within the meetings industry. Had I known these changes were to come; I certainly would not have made the business and personal sacrifices.

I am not yet a CMM, as I an a couple years shy of the 10 year requirement, however, I do not want to take advantage of this new program. I want to earn a CMM, certificate in Meeting Management, to signify that I have 10 years experience and that I have passed the rigorous educational and practical requirements. Please consider a new desgnation that better conveys your goals with GBTA rather than remove the prestige from the CMM. Thank you.

Please preserve the integrity of the CMM designation. I've work very hard for many years to obtain this designation and I do not intend to stand by and watch it be devalued.

the reason I achieved my CMM designation was the prestige, value and hard work required. This new proposed desgination does not reflect what I valued most and the reasons for me wanting to achieve this presigious honour.

It took a long time for me to get the right experience to pursue this designation because it was the highest in the meetings industry and I remember how proud I was when I was finally awarded the designation. It's a real disappointed that it's now about to be devalued.

MPI can not take away from me the education I have garnered from the experience of the original CMM program - that I will carry with me no matter where my career leads. It is u fortuate that this "designation" is not CIC managed like the CMP program is. With contious metrics to ensure the validity of knowledge and experience of those holding those 3 little letters after their name - then it would be considered a certification- I am saddened that in essence MPI is "selling off" the program - they have not and will never devalue me and what I learned, but I reducing the criteria for this, and making the proposed changes they have outlined, they have devalued the program - and although I will always be proud of my acomplishments, the three little letters -CMM- behind my name, I foresee will mean very little to my career and any potential future employers as they will discount it not knowing if I an an "old" CMM or a new oe under the partnership between MPI and GBTA. Disappointed ted yet again by the lack of respect for the membership and poor communication.
