The whole point of an arts school is to give those looking for a career in the arts a stepping stone. Think about that the next time you see a movie, play, ballet or concert.

I am a 1999 alum of MHSA and I couldn't be more proud of my school. It has endured decades of budget cuts and still endeavors to teach kids with an interest in the arts how to harness their talents into the future, as well as provides them with a safe and well-rounded education. Do not give up on these kids and allow another opportunity to be taken away from them.

I currently work at MHSA in the CLC Program. I see the impact of the arts focused education for these kids EVERY DAY. It gives students who normally wouldn't have a creative outlet the chance to flourish and grow in ways that no other school in the district can provide.

MHSA and its arts program was a key success to my life today. It's arts program is a building foundation and a major part of the schools legacy! Removing that will only hinder our children's future! #longlivearts

MHSA is like no other school. It promotes creativity and developed my appreciation for the arts more than I could have imagined. Taking away the opportunity for students to develop and expressive themselves would be a tragedy.

As an alum of MHSA I hope you reconsider and keep the Arts in MHSA. It shaped me as a person for the better and provided me and thousands of other students to explore their artistic abilities, something we see too little of.

MHSA has molded me into the incredible woman and dancer I am today. Don't let it die! The dance program and it's staff saved my life more times than I can count.

The Arts schools have done so much for the community and people who thought they didn't have a voice or a reason to succeed. Budge cuts are not a good idea in doing that it will take away from our funding of programs and resources for the student if you do that it would be an extreme dishonor to what students and teacher stand for or what they dream of for the livelihood!

The arts will ALWAYS be a part of my life. Some of my best memories happened in this school and the curriculum does not need to be changed AT ALL.

MHSA laid the foundation to my academic and artistic success. The arts are important and I wouldn't be where I am today without the programs and the instructors I had at Milwaukee High School of the Arts

I loved my high school experience and I hope that with budget cuts that there is some way to still keep all faculty on board. I graduated in 2007 and we were struggling financially then as well. I can only imagine it has been a challenge for Arts faculty since. The community, diversity, level of work and talent that has been molded by MHSA speaks for itself. I urge you to reconsider.
