I've lived in Seattle my whole life (59 years), and have seen what development run amok has done to our once liveable city. Please don't let the same thing happen to your beautiful island.

This decision is forever. Pavement and houses are forever. 100 years from now we will still be able to expand other neighborhoods upward, but we can never go back on this decision. Nobody will ever un-build a neighborhood to create more open space for our great-grandkids.

It is so important to our quality of life on this island to preserve this beautiful piece of land without development.

WE do not have the infrastructure to support the out-of-control growth of our population. Honoring an existing citizen-owned property is one way to preserve our community.

Please keep the land as is. More development would cause horrible traffic problems with the school traffic. We also need to keep land for the wildlife as well as protection of our aquifers. Thank you.

I think this 14 acres of land should be left completely undeveloped and, preserved as a refuge and natural habit for future generations of this island. Once ANY of the current features are changed or destroyed they will be irreversibly gone forever. The City council members need to widen their vision and think to the future of this special island. Thank you.

The Suzuki Property is not a good place to put any housing units.
Apartments owned by the Housing Resource Board will incur service expenses like school, fire, parks, library, city services but will not pay property tax toward those services.
This would be an ongoing expense for the Bainbridge Island tax payers.
What little money COBI will receive for the property would not compensate for the additional increase in property tax for the rest of us.
I strongly feel COBI should transfer the property to Metro Parks.
If COBI needs money for a Capital Project than ask the tax payer's for it.

I support the proposal submitted by the parks to preserve the Suzuki property. There are too many unknowns regarding our water resources and the environmental impact that development could have on this area. The area is already too congested.

Building affordable housing should not mean clear-cutting every damn tree on the Island. The last two or three affordable housing sites have made the Walgreens site look like it was developed by Teddy Roosevelt.....

In the face of climate change we need more trees and more undisturbed natural places not more poorly conceived development. Keep it as is - it's already occupied by what we need most.

This property should be preserved under the careful stewardship of the Parks Department for the enjoyment of all the citizens of Bainbridge Island. The City should find other more appropriate parcels to develop for affordable housing.

Keep it free, with minimal disturbance to any of the many varied ecosystems on that land.

Recently approx 70% of the votes authorized the parks to buy the Sakai Property. This means votes place a high value on open space. Please transfer this property to the parks at a zero price.

As the island develops with increased speed, it is critical that properties like this stay intact. This is an all island concern.

I have too many reasons for opposing the development of this land into housing to list here. However, I will make the point that given what we know (and don't know) about the current state of BI water resources, and how they will be impacted by climate change, approving yet another housing development is simply irresponsible. Thank you.
