We should not have to choose between affordable housing and open space, parks, and buffers. Do not cut down even more trees, build more roads. Affordable housing should be planned into development and paid for by development, not provided for by sacrificing open space.

This important natural space should be preserved for future generations. Affordable housing should be interwoven within existing development on our island.

While I love the idea of such a large public park it does seem that there might be room to build a small amount of concentrated affordable housing. But that could also go on the Suzuki property as well.

pleaese preserve this land for green space, walking paths and wildlife corridor. It is tha last bit of green space surrounded by several neighborhoods. Developing this land would add to the already major traffic safety concerns for children attending the area schools. Thank you

Walkable affordable housing near Winslow and the ferry makes much more sense than developing this unique property, Let's keep it as it is-at least for now and the near future.

Voters approved to extend a bond to buy the property under the guise it would be preserved as a park/open space. If the city now opens this up to development and it is approved should we assume the extended bond/tax is then paid and eliminated from the island tax payers. It's a shame to think we voted to approve the purchase and now other options are on the table for consideration. I say transfer to the parks division.

When 70% of the island voted yes to approve a bond to purchase the Sakai property, they sent a loud a clear message that green space as a public park in Winslow is far more important than more high density housing. Please don't try and solve your budget problems on the back of our island's values.

It is our responsibility to preserve this priceless asset. The highest and best use will be to preserve the entire Suzuki property as a public park.

Since moving from Chicago to Bainbridge Island in 2003 I've seen the population change from about 21,000 residents to now about 23,000...not exactly a population bomb. While more low income residencies are important I believe we can accommodate this while leaving the Suzuki property as public space. I support this call 100percent .

Please do not destroy what makes Bainbridge......Bainbridge. So much history lives here on this beautiful island. We must continue to be stewards for the generations to follow.
