After learning the facts, and considering the options we have available on Bainbridge, it seems the Suzuki preserve needs to be saved as a park for all to enjoy.

While I understand our need for affordable housing, there are other pieces of land available on the island for that purpose which wouldn’t require destruction of beautiful, mature woods.

Save the trees! We're temporary, we cannot live TWO HUNDRED YEARS. Whatever happened to respecting the elders?

Turning this beautiful old growth area and wetland into low income housing will be a bad idea for our island and the quality of life here.

Conflating affordable housing with environmental preservation is only confusing the issue of what to do with the property. Keep it as a park. There is other land available for affordable housing.

Affordable housing and land preservation do not need to do battle. There are plenty of private properties within Winslow that could be used for higher density development. This island is special. The small pockets remaining of old growth should be protected for the good of island wildlife and residents.

Open park space. There are other ways to address affordable housing in the island that don't involve greenfield forest.

I'm new to the Island and would love to see this be a park and become a place that's isn't over developed. When I moved here from Mississippi last year the first thing I fell in love with was all of the beautiful trees. I would hate to see them go, for a housing development.

I am a Kitsap resident, and it saddens me every time I see another forested area "harvested" and developed into a neighborhood of oversized houses on postage stamp lots. Please reconsider.

Our region and Bainbridge Island cannot afford to lose this CRUCIAL piece of the environment! Affordable housing is not an excuse to rip down beautiful, needed green space!!

We must save our forested areas.

This is a prime example of why we as the citizenry need to let our voices be heard. As our island get munched up by development, any land that we as a community own should be saved for future generations.
I can only imagine the chaos around that vicinity with traffic involving schools and a large neighborhood invading.

I voted for the purchase of the Suzuki property with the understanding it would be managed by the Park District. This is a large natural tract near the downtown core. Please let the Park District manage it and hopefully keep it Open Spaxe.
Thanks,

I strongly support keeping the Suzuki property preserved as a public park instead of 'developing' it.
I'd rather see high-rises in Winslow.
Trees>houses
